Man, say what you will about the game itself, this song is fantastic.
  • This game is honestly extremely underrated. The gameplay isn’t the best, but I don’t think it’s bad either. But the main strength is the story, and the fact that it actually kinda has, like, characters? That have personalities and develop over time?? The other two NES games didn’t really have that, mostly because they just straight up couldn’t, since the player chooses their names and jobs, and consequently, their personality and backstory. But in FFII, these characters already have names, they already have skills they worked for and they have friends and loved ones they grew up with. They each had distinct lives and a place they called home, before it all was taken away from them at the beginning of the game. Aside from the characters, the story is more compelling too. Locations get destroyed by the empire, towns don’t always stay the same, the world changes throughout the story. It isn’t a simple “heroes of the crystals” plot. There are actual compelling twists and turns of the plot in an NES game. There are themes, for crying out loud! Themes! It isn’t that good of a final fantasy game relative to the later ones, but it laid the groundwork for the best of the best, like FF6, FF7, and FF9.

This actually captures the original NES feel of the score xd

honestly, next to the psp/origins version of FF2's main theme, while i like those, i honestly think FF2 pixel remaster's version of the main theme is just perfect. sure it loses the acoustic guitar the psp version had in the 2nd verse, but i feel this version captures the feeling of hopelessness and a "light of hope" throughout the despair and tragedy.(like what deumion, a canon ancient guardian in the arcane labyrinth in FF2, who guarded the destroy spell, hung on to) i do wish we could hear the emperor's battle theme(called battle scene 2) eventually, that one sounds amazing just like pandemonium, and near everything else in 2. i think FF2 pixel remaster got the best glow up in terms of soundtrack(with the exception of battle theme A which is not as energetic as it is in origins/psp)

Music like lost and found ,long time no see ,miracle happened !!!
  • I was shocked at how much I enjoyed FFII, the leveling system is insanely addictive. To the point that it's a bummer to me how much of a huge step back in both gameplay and story FF3 feels afterwards, it feels more like a direct sequel to the original FF than this does.

I love the theme, and I love this version as well but it wasn't sitting well with me and for a moment it wasn't clear why, but it's because it feels more like a ending credit theme and not an overworld theme.... it's beautiful it just felt misplaced. It's so nice thooo I love FFII's overworld it's my fave of all time.
  • It's really good and it's completely captures the spirit of the original overworld theme. Somehow, the nuances of the PS-version had me completely won and I would've prefered if this version was based on that version. 😌 But hey, I'm not really complaining.
  • the original version of ff2 was published for nintendo fc, the scene of game is simple, but its AI was stupid
  • Gotta love Final Fantasy Elder Scrolls edition. Tbh I found the game lovely, although that's just my opinion lol

Man! This is one of those tracks that get ruined because they went full orchestra, i prefer the nes/psp version better
