Insulating that rocket stove should help it retain much more heat. I worked at a heat treat facility and we would use insulation in our 20 foot long furnaces that would withstand very high temperatures.

Fascinating....great build! Please don't grab a turning hub, especially when under power ))))

Go with a batch box instead of the rocket stove this way you will be able to get it up to temp. same principal!
  • That's pretty exciting, Dave :) I'll bet it does get hot right next to that metal. Very cool.

you are so lucky to buy this stirling, hope you dont let it die in your basement... my dream is to study this inresol engine
  • @jsh111
Where did you acquire such a sterling? Looks like a very good quality build
  • Hi Dave that’s awesome mate. What’s the power output of the motor?
  • @chadw4969
very similar to what im trying to build...... any name, model, brand , available?.... any upgrades or innovations?.... recommendations?
  • Great work, but this can never be cost effective in supplying energy to the Grid. Sterlines are great but not as wood and gas as energy source but with Heat Solar. Also the nitrogen injection is not needed if properly insulated and put in water. This will only look good in a museum or for raising Capital.
