About Simple Little Life:
This channel has sort of turned (inadvertently) into a knife making channel. But the original idea behind what we wanted it to be is this description below:

Videos on our journey to homesteading. With a recent purchase of a little piece of the Alberta prairie, we're looking to sell our nice suburban home in search of a more meaningful life beyond chasing the "American dream" working for some big company and making someone else rich. It's not about the money, it's about getting the most value from the work I do to improving the life of my family.

Some preparedness, DIY, building quality things with your hands, guns, gear, and outdoor exploration.

Skip to 5 mins..! Only works if you’ve got access from other end if it’s OPEN to allow to these tools to be inserted, but if you’re cutting threads it won’t work as you’ll need to go into reverse if there’s allowed length...

Great tool idea I did not know these existed and will get a set for those aggravating moments. Bring on more please.
  • Your reaction to how much they are is perfect to what you said earlier in the video, and these tool time Tuesdays are helpful
  • @tfildaed
    Worth. Every. Penny! Well done!
  • @neilyeag
This is an excellent series because as you said, one may or may not need right now. But I learned something. I had never heard of these tools. Thanks for sharing.

Haha, we use to have a tool guy that would drive site to site. They were more than happy to give you "credit" because the money would come right out of your check... All of the sudden your eyes get bigger than your pockets... You don't realize you're on the hook for a long time.. I'm still guilty of buying a lot of tools that i don't necessarily need, but then again, when you need them, they pay for themselves... Great video, take it easy...(I agree about the 1 tool, you helped my decision to buy the carbide file guide & I love it!!!)
  • @mramanya
I always enjoy your Tuesday vids...
  • Don't be so defensive J. All knowledge is useful. Quality tools are expensive but cheap tools can cost you more in the long run. I recently inherited some seriously old school tools from a 94 year old uncle and TTT has helped solve a few mysteries. Great to see your smiling face back online dude. Thanks for sharing.

I've made a DIY version with the same basic principal by using small pins that fit down between the flutes of the broken tap and then wrapping a small wire around those and a new tap (like a splint). Sometimes it works like a charm, sometimes it's a Clown Donkey rodeo. Mostly though, my EDM machine gets the stubborn broken taps as long as I can fit the piece in the tank. :-)

Exactly what you are saying!! I never knew about these extractors. I will file that away for the future
  • @alaub1990
Beautiful idea. Your YouTube is seriously my favorite channel ever man
  • @sambaggins2798
If I had a busted tap, I’d spend the money lol. Great job!
  • @brandondaley1628
The tap extractors can be just as big a PITA as a broken tap, Ive got lots of experience with them in industrial use. Great for home use maybe.
  • @Halletts2011
I never knew they existed. Information to have just in case.
