Kathmandu Food Tour | Van Life Nepal | The Hippie Trail #60

Published 2024-03-23
We are real food lovers! That's why we really enjoy making these foodie vlogs.
This one was especially fun to make because we really love Nepalese food!
And even though this is our third time in the country, we are still amazed at the variety of food available.
Not only is there the obligatory khana set, but this time we manage to find new dishes to enchant us!

Enjoy this one and... be kind, always!

Who are we?

We’re An and Yves, a Belgian couple who share a passion for travel en adventure.
Over the years we took a couple of gap years on different occasions and right now we're travelling the hippie trail, which started on January 1 2023!

As said this is not our first travel experience but three years ago we started sharing our stories on YouTube and Instagram. There has to be a first time for everything!

Our goal is to inspire you to follow your passion (big or small) and to see and experience the world with your own eyes.
By sharing our stories we hope we can inspire one another on their own journeys.

  • Mo mo is everyone's food. The story goes like princess bhrikuti married in china & Introduces mo mo to them. Chinese side story is Newar businessmen brought it from China. But who cares if food can bring two nations together its win win for both.

  • It would be fantastic if you were able to drive to western Nepal and see Bardiya National Park, as well as take a short hike to Khaptad Ashram (in Nepal's far western hills) in Khaptad National Park. If you take the Siddhartha Highway from Pokhara to Butwal before driving west, the roads aren't too bad, and there are decent roads in the far western hills. If you are comfortable driving and have a ground clearance of at least 180-190mm, you can also travel to Rara National Park, one of Nepal's most beautiful sites in Karnali province. It provides an incredible glimpse into rural Nepal that you can't find anywhere else, and of course, driving on the treacherous Karnali Highway is itself an adventure. Since certain significant sections of various highways are under construction for expansion, you will need to communicate with someone local before driving via any route for alternative routes. You have already encountered a few problematic roads on your way into Kathmandu; it would be best to stay off of these and take longer routes. If driving is not an option, you can also use public transportation system from Birendranagar.
