Thanksgiving weekend 11/30/13 in Athens, Ga. This is the first song of the second set. Audience and band were warmed up and familiar. Set rez to 1080 and get comfortable as Athens, Ga.'s Melting Point presents legendary Beverly "Guitar" Watkins with the Rick Fowler Band (Rick - vocals, guitar / Michael Doke - guitar, vocals / Deane Quinter - drums / Greg Veale - bass, vocals / Tim White - Hammond). Beverly sings and sticks to harmonica, letting Michael and Rick handle the guitars, which are all custom made from reclaimed wood by Deadwood Guitars.

WoW! I never heard of Beverly Guitar Watkins/ Rick Fowler Band. She was great Blues artist. I am going to find more of her great music to listen to. Rottingtapes thanks for sharing her music with us. I have subscribed to your channel just in case you present some more great Blue Music.

...In a cold and covid constrained England looking for something different on YT,came across this "young"lady.I do not know anything about her....other than that she's an absolutely magnificent find,...and the world is a sadder place for her loss.But her memory is immortalised by these superb 1080 recordings.Her family and friends and fellow musicians must view these "keepsakes" of a beautiful lady with fondness and love.Thank you so much ROTTINGTAPES for putting these superb recordings out there,and I know that Beverly's spirit is out there in the vastness of the universe along with Ma Rainey,Besse Smith,Ella ,....and all the other blues and jazz singers,..spreading the cosmic blues gospel...I'll look you up when I get there...David
