Short days like this give a taste of the cruising life compared to Looping, and we LOVE it. Today we leave the North side of Lake Barkley, enter Kentucky Lake, and make our way to the Land Between the Lakes. We are doing some last-minute preparation for our talk on Anchoring for the AGLCA Rendezvous and are relishing in the fantastic anchoring this region of the Loop provides.

Thanks for watching!

Cheers from the Loop,
Jennifer and Elliot

ABOUT US
Hi! We are high school sweethearts from Atlanta, Georgia who decided to take a year off to travel around the world. Together we decided to create vlogs for our journey as a fun way to remember it. On September 15, 2019, we left Atlanta with 3 bags, 2 one-way tickets, and 1 goal of traveling for a whole year. Little did we know, 6 months later we would find ourselves in a nationwide lockdown in India. After spending 5 months in India, we came back to the United States and decided to purchase a 34’ Trawler, dive headfirst into boat life, and kick-off America’s Great Loop.
The good, the bad, the ugly – and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.”, just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem.

Thank you for following us along our journey!

  • I’ve jumped the quarry wall many times! So neat to see you enjoying Kentucky lake.

Looks fun, great content, great music! Thanks for taking on the journey!
  • Everyone we tell about the loop mentions you guys! You guys are doing it! I am excited to see your following explode in the next few months - you got this
  • Ahhh, Kentucky Lake… I grew up going there for vacation! So pretty! One fun memory I have of that area is when I was water skiing and our boat ran out of gas and my dad had to switch the tanks but I never fell…just slowing sank! Once the boat was going again, my dad gave it some throttle and I came back up out of the water! 😅 nice video!

The "jellyfish" you found was an aquatic plant. The air filled sacks along the stems help push the smaller branches and leaves up to the surface where they get more light for photosynthesis.
  • I've really been enjoying your selection of background music in your videos. You two have a real knack for creating calm video presentations and offer a sufficient amount of interesting dialog with your segments. Hopefully all your viewers appreciate the hours of editing required to get the content and flow you want before you call it a wrap. I always look forward to your next video. Please stay safe, keep enough water under your keel, and take care of each other.

Absolutely stunning and really glad you are enjoying the places my family has enjoyed through the years!

You guys are in this area at the perfect time of year. The leaves are turning and the water is still upper 70's low 80's. As you travel further south on the Tennessee there are some great anchorages, Ginger Bay, Panther Creek, etc. BTW the Quarry was excavated/formed when they built the Ky Damn. We keep our boat at Paris Landing and have spent years exploring and anchoring in these rivers and lakes. In my opinion they are some of the most stunning waterways East of the Miss'. The old Danville Transfer Elevator south of Paris Landing is pretty interesting as well.

I was stationed at Ft Cambell Ky in the 70s. On weekends we would tent camp at the land between the lakes.
  • We used to have those kind of mussels in the Great Lakes until the zebra mussels came in 😢
  • @lovingcars
You guys are so lucky with all your inland water. In Southern Africa that is not heard of...
  • What a gorgeous area. I've got to get another boat and cruise this area. Ollie is so cute with her chasing rocks and mussel shells. I hope that she is doing good a year later from when you shot these videos.
