My family played this song at my grandparents funeral. They were both diagnosed with different types of cancer back in 2020, and few days before Christmas of all times. They passed away within 17 hours of each other, and they died surrounded by all of my family. My mom and my uncles were devastated. I remember when my grandmother passed, a storm rolled in. We all saw it as her being mad that she wasn’t in heaven with my grandfather. He passed away the next morning, and before he passed, a window was open and a calm breeze blew through the room, and my mom said for a single moment, she saw him smile. That must of been my grandmother coming to take him with her. They loved each other so much. There passing was seen as tragically beautiful because what had transpired when they passed. My grandmother was the sweetest woman who could make friends with just about anyone, and my grandfather was, as my dad put it, “tough as Woodpecker lips”, but still one of the most loving people in the world. I miss them both everyday.
  • There is 26 thumbs down. This song was written for his daughter that passed in 1986. Thumbs up please.

I met my wife when we were 7 years old in school, She was called home last summer (2022) just before my 72nd birthday. I know she's there waiting for me when I come home. Such a beautiful love song.

George Strait lost his daughter in a car accident on June 25, 1986. She was just 13 at the time. This song is one of his tributes to her.
