  • George Strait has remained faithful to country music. I can't say the same for the Grand Ole Opry.

This is a far greater loss for the Grand Ole Opry than it is for George Strait. He is one of the greatest to ever sing a country song, and he has remained true to the genre throughout his career.

The common thread throughout George Straits career has been his faithfulness to his roots. He never sold out to the machine.

Long live the King of Country. Staying true to real values. Nashville can kiss his boots. He is the greatest singer and performer hands down. ❤

Like George and Alan sang, "They got away with murder down on Music Row."

As a fellow Texan I have more respect for George now knowing he stayed true to his country roots and did it his way.
  • I appreciate George Strait and all his decades of true, authentic country music. He chose not to join the Grand Ole Opry for one reason, it was told you had to appear a certain amount if times live there every year. George stated that he lived in Texas and could not meet that requirement with his home being in Texas, as well as his massively busy touring schedule at the time. I respect t him for that decision. I have seen George over 10 times in concert, and he never disappoints me. I miss seeing him in concert as he doesnt tour as extensively as before, but I do respect his decision to do so for his own health. He is a true country gentleman, and he is keeping it real. God bless you, George, and keep on being you. That is perfect for your true fans. It is the Grand Ole Opry's loss, in my opinion.

I don’t think George is losing sleep over it

He is the king of country music. He needs no circle. He is the circle!
  • I have high respect to George Strait he has stayed true to himself and his family!
  • George doesn’t need the Opry, it’s the other way around. But with the direction that the current country music genre is taking, I don’t know why any real country music entertainer would want to go down that rabbit hole. Nashville has changed way too much for most true country music fans.

He holds the honor of giving us one of the finest examples of great acting that the world has ever seen.
  • George Strait has been a pioneer of country music. He's a great person and holds true to his roots.

Texas loyalty comes before being available for half an entire year’s weekends at the Opry. GS is the King and everyone knows it. No Opry needed.
  • He has said many times that he will stick with traditional country music and that the people in Nashville sold their souls to anything that brought sales. I agree with him and have much respect for not jumping on that train .
  • I saw George Strait at the Opry for Loretta Lynn's memorial. So, yes, he has played inside the circle and it is available on YouTube.

Brings a whole new meaning to “Opry music on a Saturday night, brings a smile to your face and a tear to your eye. Sing a song about the Heartland. The only place I feel at home.” 🤔 King George doesn’t need the Opry. The Opry needs him. 😁

Maybe it is because he does not have a relationship with his fans. He was only able to draw 100,000+ fans to his Cowboy Rides Away concert at Cowboys Stadium. This was the largest attendance ever for an indoor concert. It took around 2 hours to sell out Cowboys Stadium. George has 60 number 1 hits which is most by any musician ever. George is a great family man and music King in Texas!
