Her parents should have gotten jobs instead of enslaving their little girl
  • It's ok for poor parents to tell their children they can't buy them the flashiest toys or throw the biggest birthday party BUT it should absolutely not be the child's problem beyond that! Do not involve your children in adult problems!
  • @nancy8269
It’s a parents job to support and raise the child NOT the other way around. This breaks my heart and angers me. Don’t have kids you can’t afford!
  • My father was a drug addict and alcoholic who spent all of my moms savings and paychecks, so when she sent him to rehab for the 5th time she told him not to come back. I come to find out a few years ago she had saved the house from sheriff’s sale and managed to keep me fed always. She did what a parent should do and not bring their kid into money issues. No child should have to have that to worry about. Ironically though I have an extreme fear and anxiety about money
  • Sad she was FORCED to take that roll. I don't care how many say her mom wasn't beating her to do it etc. That's a lil girls mind your telling they won't have a HOME to call home if she didn't take that LEAP of faith. I needed this today, gave me motivation to GO GET AFTER IT! Not for anyone else, but me. I need this. Shouts out to Jannet. She's a fighter.
  • God, I remember going through this same thing around the age of 5/6. My parents would constantly bring me into their fights about money, tell me how lucky I was to have been born because most people their age would have decided not to have a children because they’re a burden financially. I feel so deeply for Jeannette. I’m sorry she ever had to endure that.
  • As someone with narcissistic parents this makes perfect sense. Glad she's free from her mother.

I love that she’s talking about her childhood. Obviously I’m not an actress but my mom thought I was “gifted” enough to be her meal ticket. Private school when she could afford it, music lessons, straight A’s or don’t even speak. I did drugs (sometimes with her) to cope which was fine to her bc I lost weight, my hair started falling out in high school from stress and I developed insomnia. Still got into a prestigious college but it was a big betrayal that I couldn’t call her everyday but at least I sent money so I remained an ok daughter. She’d randomly remind me bc of a hip deformity I would die in child birth so it’s best I never get married… she lied. And when she realized I decided to buy a farm with my then boyfriend now husband she said anything she could to make me doubt him. After our wedding she attempted to wiggle her way in for us to build a home on our property for her to “retire” (she has no job). He had reservations about it and one crazy text after another we cut ties in 2021. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I’ve heard some of this actress’s stories now and they remind me of my mom so much. I just wanted her to be proud without me instantly owing her something. My daughter will never experience that.

I think that we need a system that better protect kid actors, the stuff that she went to shouldn’t had been allowed
  • It’s weird cause a lot of child actors have parents like hers where she’s the bread winner even though it’s not at all legal. Ex the girl from modern family had to get emancipated from her parents

I grew up around 3 women who were extreme erratic, always fighting, and hysterical. People underestimate what being this way to children and other adults in the house can do to a person. People have an extremely narrow viewpoint on what abuse is

I can’t believe that I am not the only one that went through something like this. My mother was always upset about not having enough money and when she and my dad would fight She would belittle my dad in front of me . She would control what I should buy and my money even when I started working. I was finally free when I left the country and live elaewhere. Children are not ATM machines nor are they retirement plans. Parents decide to have children. They did not ask the opinion of the unborn children before they decide to get pregnant.
  • I remember growing up relating to her so much because she was seeming to go through similar situations as i was , seeing her character helped le understand how i was feeling when i wasn’t old enough to .
  • @ILikeTheIvy
Its sad how many child stars were forced into this by their own parents
  • @truthh8597
This girl is a beautiful survivor!🙌 God bless her
  • @joked87isback
Janette didnt have money problems, her mother did. The child has to rely on the parents for things not the other way around.
  • Man, I’ll forever be grateful to my parents. They moved to the US at the age of 45 both and they restarted our lives simply so that we could have a better future. Even in the years where they struggled financially, they never stopped giving me and my sister all they could.
