Those WAGO connectors work really well ~ You need to open the internal clamp by pulling back the orange lever into the vertical position, insert the stripped wire end the press the lever back to its original position ~ Great connection made!!

Lol. Those connectors that didn't work really do work. You need to lift the little orange levers all the way up so that they are at a 90 degrees angle to the connector, then insert the wire and push the orange lever down flat again. They are really stiff to prise all the way up and back down again.

Hi! Thanks for the video! Is the resister really needed for the hardwired installation or can you do it without it?
  • @Reedo321
Thanks for the video, very useful. Apologies if this is obvious, but what does the resistor bring to the party? I'm planning on doing a very similar installation. If the transformer is bringing the voltage down I'm struggling to see what the resistor is for? Cheers

what if there is no bell wire in your house like mine?

If I have a battery-powered doorbell and I connect the doorbell to a transformer, does it charge the battery or does it just switch automatically to the wire? thanks
  • @PatricksDIY
You need to open the Wago connector, lift the orange lever 90 degrees its not easy, and that's for good reason, so when its closed it does not just fall out after.

Wow, so easy in US to drill everywhere, but in UK most old/new buildings are Concrete/brick, that's why brits are so stubborn :) My guess- I'm from europe

Thanks for the video. I have a 8V AC transformater already installed and connected to the Eufy. The app shows a charging symbol, but after a few days the battery drains from 100% to 90%. Are 8V to low? I cant a data sheet from Eufy. Thank you.

You dont need to connected a resistor, Only if your transformer output is greater than 24v
  • THE BIG QUESTION IS if my door phone in NOT AC will it work from say 12v DC ? Most aussie door phones and bells use DC

Hi, i got a doorbell with transformer installed. It gives 6v output only. Can I step it up to 12v? Or shall I remove the transformer and put new 12v one? Or it’s better to buy new doorbell with 12v transformer installed?

First of all thank you so much for your detailed video. I do have a quick question / issue on Homebase2 connection to my router. I do have tp-link Deco X20 mesh system, when I try to connect my homebase2 with the internet , it has blue blinking light only and then I could see error message "Network Exception, please try again later." With an error screen titled "Unable to add HoemBase2". Could you please help me out? I tried everything reset, unplug power cable, router restart, reset button on homebase2 but it just keep blinking blue led.Help would be highly appreciated 🙏

This model still doesn't have the 3 second preroll feature though.
