Well Doc you just explained my situation to a T. I've tried most everything you spoke of except I refuse to take opioids again and will not take any (nsaid) except for aspirin. None of my doctors mentioned anything about the procedures you talked about. I think I will see about getting the cyst rupture procedure done instead of the operation where they remove a piece of bone from my spine. This lesson has been very informative. Thank you so much and GB.
  • Thank you. I just had lumbar cyst rupture performed. Fingers crossed it works!
  • Love your videos! Very informative. I recently learned about OLLIF and was wondering your thoughts about OLLIF.
  • Thank you Dr Su for your amazing illumination of the spine. I am 73 and ran a half marathon in 1.55 in October. 2 weeks later 1 couldn’t walk and was found (MRI) to have a synovial cyst on L4/5 with OAFJ, which resulted in neurogenic claudication and intense pain in buttocks. I was offered a zimmer frame in ED. I had full power sitting and nothing standing. I tried rowing on an erg and from that day the pain and weakness has disappeared, improving every day, with rowing 3x per week. I am now walking up to 10miles in a day. How can I prevent recurrence please Thank you Geoff Perkins
  • Dr. Su-I really learn a lot from your videos. I don't think you have ever discussed artificial disc replacement and I'm wondering why?
  • Thank you for this. Curious what your perspective is on regenerative medicine techniques for facet cysts. As a young active woman in my 40s with weird muscle stuff along my left pelvis and into my foot I am curious about all the options of how to resolve the cyst.

Hi Dr Su you make this complicated spinal issue so much easier to understand. Thank so so much. I have a cyst that seems to form after my microlaminectomy (post surgery 7 weeks now), that is on the left side abutting the exit of the L4 nerve, size 7mm, this is giving me pain (some time is worse than other), sometimes radiating to the lower leg , most of the time is at the left lower back, Will synovial fluid get absorbed back by our body ? If it does, how long normally will it take? Again thank you so much for your video👍👍.
  • Hey Doctor, can you make a video on thoracolumbar joint syndrome? I feel like I'm going through that, and would like to get educated on that!

Hi Dr Su I am learning something new everyday from your amazing videos. How can I tell if it is my cervical facet joint is causing pain by pressing onto my cervical nerves or the pain is due to arthrosis of the joint? Some history first: 1 Dec 2022 left C6 steroid injection 5 Jan 2023 left C7/T1 T1/T2 T2/3 facet joint injections 17 Feb 2023 cervicothoracic medial branch blocks specific levels as guided by pain mapping under CT left C6/7 and C7/T1 facet joints 15 March 2023 Left C5/6 transforaminal injection (injectate was lignocaine and dexamethasone) None of the above has helped me with reducing the pain. Now the pain management doctor is proposing to get the following by next week: Facet joint cortisone injections, specifically to left C6/7 and left T2/3 Is this too much cortisone in such a short period? If my pain doctor has to determine the source of the pain can't he just use just lignocaine without the cortisone as a diagnostic tool rather than providing relief? Normally lignocaine can last 2-4 hours which is enough time to tell him if the pain has been mitigated or not. Also besides motor nerves and facet joints sensory nerves, can pain be caused by inflamed neck muscles, ligaments and tendons? What do you think? Thank you. Best regards Alfred

After aspirating a cyst; what are the chances and time period of another cyst forming in the same spot?
  • @timsmith3960
Hi Dr, how do you feel about Radio Frequency Ablation? My Neurosurgeon suggested that for this problem..
  • @bowser2005
Is your clinic able to do a percutaneous aspiration and fibrin glue injection procedure? I'm trying to help a family member who has a tarlov cyst (cyst in their sacral area). We spoke with Dr. Feigenbaum out of Dallas who wanted us to pursue this method but we are having the hardest time finding someone on the West Coast who does this (we live in Alaska).
  • @Nick-th9qy
Is there any treatmenr for disc? degeneration 33 here and have been diagnosed with mild form of it and its pretty debilitating at times
  • How do I find a surgeon to do the rupture?? I've been tossed around between radiology, IR, ortho and neuro surgery and no one does this procedure. I'm at a loss!!!
