1970 Chevy Yenko Duece Nova: Muscle Car Of The Week Video Episode #204

#musclecar #v8tv
There are many different interesting aspects behind the 1970 Yenko Deuce Nova, and we've explored some of these on previous episodes of Muscle Car Of The Week. If memory serves, we featured and orange one and a blue one from The Brothers Collection on our show, but today, we're taking a look a bright sunflower yellow example of this - as then described - “mini muscle car”.

My first two cars were Nova's a 72 with 250, and 71 SS 350, ran low 14.2@97mph, not too bad for car with only 9.5:1 compression with a pair of 2.02 camel hump head and an aggressive street cam. I painted it a loud hugger orange. It was faster than than a stock 396\350 SS, which at the time was pretty impressive. It's had a nice loppy idle that I miss to this day. I had plans to drop a 454 in her but life got and money got in the way. I love that yellow on this car, Mazda in 93' made yellow called competition yellow mica (CYM) that is a similar shade, with a pearl in it that I think is the hottest yellow ever put on a car. Still I with black, I mean you can't really go wrong with pure black car.

i Bought a 1970 350 ci Nova Blue it was Not a Yenko but it was a Super Freak, i got it from the Original owner in 1973, i was 16 yr old, my friends brother in law sold it to me, it had 27,000 miles on it, he said Not to drive it at night because it had a short some where, the head lights will go on and off, he wanted $625. for it, it's what he owe on it , i only had $500. so i borrowed the rest from my aunt, i went to pick it up the next day and he said he talked it over with his wife & they didn't want to sale it to me because he did Not want my Dad coming over and getting mad because of the short, My heart sank, i told him that would not happen, Anyway i got it for the first week i only drove it in the day then another friend of mine asked why the head lights go on & off, i said i have to find someone that can help me fix it,, His older brother came over and checked it out, it was a headlight switch and an engine ground had a bad wire, it cost me $ 40.00 to fix it, That Car was so Fast but everyone said the reason it was so fast is because it was a small car with a 350 V8 in it, i really didn't know about the Facts of the 1970 Chevy High performance engine's until a year or so after i sold it, i had it until 1976 when i bought a 1974 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 455 ci, One of many Classic's i had back in the day, Now if you want a nice car it's like buying a house, My dad bought a 1972 Cutlass brand new for $3,200, i tell younger people about how much i paid for nice cars in the early 70s and they say No Way... Only if i knew back then what i know now .... LOL well don't we all .... AWESOME YENKO

Thought of a story about some guys buying every muscle car and sending them all to China , nightmare rather , now China sends us almost all out musclecar repo parts, another reality, which got me out of the game. We need more musclecar parts makers here. seems sad to put a chinese fender or bumper on a Chevy
