This lift is located in a non public 24 storey residential tower that was constructed in the 70s.
The tower features a set of three main lifts and one separate staff lift. The staff/service lift which is presented in this video is completely original, with some small minor mods. The other 3 main lifts have been modernized in the 2000s and can be seen partially in the background.
Originally all of these lifts where DC gearless with a top speed of 2,5m/s, however the machines of the three main lifts have been replaced with Otis 18 ATF geared machines. All of the lifts have their original flyball governors as well as cars and doors.
This lift accelerates very fast, which you don't get on modern lifts.

  • I’ve worked on that type of kit in the 30 years I worked for Otis in London England

Mooi geluid , zo zie je ze niet vaak meer , ook mooi de nieuwe machine op de achtergrond , die behoorlijk snel loopt zo te zien.

Very nice video. All looks to be well maintained. Just the sort of equipment that I spent most of my life installing and maintaining and good to see this still going.

Eine echt umfangreiche Präsentation dieser Rarität, besten Dank dafür. Das gefällt richtig gut! Müsste man schon fast unter Denkmalschutz stellen. xD
  • Given that the Otis System 260 at Maritim Strandhotel Travemünde was replaced or modernised according to some people, this could be the last original 1970s Otis lift within any Maritim buildings.

Excellent video of the controller/floor relays traction machine and defector, along with the over speed govenor. Last with the MG spin down. The MG is in good shape clean communicator. Are the DC machines 440-480 VDC?
  • Do you have access to the wiring schematics of this (or similar) lift?
