This is a movie reaction to my first time watching Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, released in 2022 and directed by Sam Raimi. Not only was it fun to watch a new-to-me Raimi movie, but to see Stephen Strange and Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch again! I had a lot of fun with this one and the visuals were extra fun! Make sure to stick around to the end of this video for my full thoughts and review and thank you so much for watching!

15:35 I can't convey just how much it hurts me when people don't recognize Bruce Campbell doing his thing in a Sam Raimi movie.

"I anticipate chaos in this movie" - Oh yes, there will be chaos 😂
  • @bensneb360
Elizabeth Olsen did an incredible, such a fun yet sympathetic villain

The hotdog vendor was played by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead and Army of Darkness) who has been in a lot of the director's previous movies. His cameo here and his hand beating him up is a wink toward his character Ash who had his hand possessed by the Necronomicon in Evil Dead 2. He had to cut off the hand and replace it with a chainsaw.
  • @Sheer_Kold
Wanda is definitely a god tier villain...I love a lot of the horror elements too... something I want more of as a horror fan.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness pays tribute to classic horror and supernatural films like Carrie, IT, Twilight Zone, The Exorcist, The Ring, Drag Me To Hell, Shining, The Mist, The Grudge 2, The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II Army of Darkness, and Day Of The Dead. I love seeing Sam Raimi's 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 in all his movies. I also like a nod to The Matrix in this film. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness showcases Raimi's distinctive style flawlessly. With its exaggerated horror elements, rapid editing, and lively camera movements, it pays homage to his legendary body of work. I was excited to hear the theme from X-Men: The Animated Series (TV Series 1992–1997) in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The musical showdown between Doctor Strange and Sinister Strange was genuinely outstanding. While traveling through the Multiverse, Doctor Strange, and America, Chavez briefly saw The Living Tribunal. Another thing I really liked was the music in this movie. The Scarlet Witch is a complicated and morally ambiguous character. In general, I really enjoyed this film. I've been a fan of Scarlet Witch since 1990. Since 1995, I've been a fan of Doctor Strange.

In the comics, America has a connection to Wanda's boys...
  • @keefriff99
Forcing Bruce Campbell to beat himself up for three weeks nonstop is Sam Raimi’s wet dream 😂😂
  • @MarcoMM1
I love when people say that this movie as horror vibes and dont realize that the director is the legendary Sam Rami that loves horror movies. Seeing Bruce Campbell in this movie is the best cameo, he and Sam Rami have a long relationship in working together since 1981 when it all started with "The Evil Dead". And btw Charlize Theron character is Clea she is Doctor Strage wife in the comics.

This movie is Monster Inc... "give me that kid"
  • @havok6280
Originally this was supposed to come out before No Way Home. America was supposed to open the portals instead of Ned. But Marvel shuffled the release order due to Covid.

"Often times happiness is a choice" and sometimes "important" people prevent you from being able to make that choice. But I digress. Very nice reaction and fun movie. Elizabeth Olsen is fantastic in this role and specifically in this movie and the TV series.
  • @havok6280
My only real complaint about this movie is it ignored all of Wanda's emotion development from Wandavision. I can fan wank that the Darkhold drove her mad but the movie never addresses that. That said, I love that they included the Illuminati. In the comics, the group includes Tony and T'challa.
  • @ThePonderer
Ridiculously underrated movie. Easily one of my favorite MCU projects post-Endgame
  • @havok6280
Black Bolt is the leader of the Inhumans. When Marvel didn't have the rights to Xmen, they tried to use the Inhumans as stand ins. But now that they own Fox, this may be the last we see of the Inhumans.
  • @jthomann71
"You break the rules and become a hero, I do it and become the enemy. That doesn't seem fair." Said every villain ever. He broke the rules to save others. She broke them for personal gain. AND murdered innocent people. She's never been a hero.
  • Blackbolt: leader of the Inhumans (basically their king). Here, he is played by the same actor reprising his role from the short-lived series, The Inhumans. They were literally created in the comics to replace the mutants at a time when Fox studios was making movies with Marvel comics characters. Marvel comics didn't want to give another studio plot ideas, so they stopped writing stories featuring mutant characters, thus the Inhumans were created. The Inhumans comics and the show were not very good. They are very similar to mutants, but they live on the moon...lol.

I so wish there was an after credit scene in which it showed Wanda at the end with the debris falling and at the last moment the debris turned into a red smoke like it showed from the other's perspective. Then showing Wanda in an alternate plane with Cthon (writer of the darkhold). There are images around here with Wanda''s kids as Cthon's arms. If they showed that it would be amazing. Have one of the kids appear first saying something like, "Oh hey mom. Tommy, mom's here." And then have the kids just be there when the Young Avengers debut with some dialog about how strange that they were there.
