  • This isn't a ham shack, it's a museum exhibit. Truly incredible work. Thank you for sharing,

One question, how do I book a week there? That is my idea of a perfect vacation.
  • I got emotional watching this. What a great collection of radio equipment! I love old military radios, but your line up of S-Lines is incredible. My hat is off to you for keeping this knowledge alive. 73 W1ECM Eric

Well I just have three things to say; 1. There's no way, so I thought, I'm going to watch a 25 minute shack tour. And then I watched it twice and it really made my day. 2. I was hooked by the Model 19 sound, what a joy to see it operate (last saw one 45 years ago in another hams shack). 3. You sir have absolutely mastered the craft of Amateur Radio and have the finest radio room(s) I have ever seen in my many decades of operating. Best 73, DE WB6JWB

I’m studying to get my license, so most of this is a foreign language, but this is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. Thank you for sharing.

I could quite comfortably live in that shack as long as I have food and a bathroom. Heaven on earth.
  • @kickassv8
3 years too late, but……..DMAN! That looks AMAZING! I love those desks with the green tops. You could write a book about everything in that shack.
  • Awesome shack! Old "boat anchors" and modern hightech beautifully arranged.......absolute top! 73 Mike

That was AWESOME! Thank you for sharing. I agree with the last comment that this looks like a museum exhibit. I really love the details of the use of vintage items in each area, the old telephone, old metal desk lamps etc. It really completes the looks and transports you back in time. I grew up next to a Ham Operator that had a huge telescoping tower and was always contesting. I knew because we could hear him on our tv sometimes, before cable came to town. I always wanted to start back then but he morse tests scared me away. I finally did get my Tech and General a couple year ago and now have a miniature shack in my basement as well as my mobile Jeep HF and VHF/UHF rigs. I need more land, money and time, and patience to get to where you are. Congratulations! Job Very Well Done Sir!
  • This video has inspired me to team up with some other hams & create a real shack. What a bar to reach!

Great collection of vintage equipment. I started in 1960 as WV6LGE in San Diego. First gear was BC-342 receiver and Globe Scout crystal-controlled transmitter. Almost continuously licensed since 1960. Other calls include WA6LGE, WB6ADA, KR6WU (Okinawa), EA7BZN (Rota, Spain) and finally WA3SCW. We may have worked each other during the past 60 years or so. 73 DE WA3SCW

I had the pleasure of touring Jay's little shack a couple of years ago, I was completely flabbergasted. Being an old USAF radio technician I was drooling at his collection I was very impressed. He just scratched the tip of the iceberg and didn't mention the other setups he has in that building, I was so jealous when I left there.

This is the second time I've watched this tour, and I just can't seem to get enough. It's marvellous! I sincerely appreciate your sharing this. When I was just a SW-listening wee lad, I remember perusing radio magazines and catalogues, and dreaming of what gear I might have in my dream shack someday. After some decades, I finally got around to collecting just a couple of rigs and some other assorted gear. Certainly just a modest little shack by your standards! Nonetheless, your tour is a wonderful reminder of just what's possible. And those old Collins rigs are still just as drool-worthy as ever. Cheers and 73!

….as I sit here with my jaw hanging open, I am in complete amazement of what you presented! God bless you and your friends on what you all have created! 73’s!
  • @leeshumway9518
Thank you for sharing your shack with us, Jay. It was a real treat taking the tour!
  • Great Presentation!!! This is a real Ham and his well organized, assembled, and designed Ham Shack. Bravo! I have enjoyed 67 years of Radio. Thank you for preserving the equipment and the real essences of this hobby. One of the nicest shacks in my memory. 73 "Val" N4RJ

The home-brew equipment is beautiful! Thank you for the tour. I'll listen for your signal on 40 and 75.
  • What a honour to receive a radio from Art Collin’s widow. Well deserved.
  • @AdamSWL
Magnificent shack! Such beautiful pieces of history so well restored, kept and operated! Thankyou so much for making this video and sharing.
  • @ichabodon
Beautiful! Now that is what is called a shack. Some really nice gear in there. Thank you for putting this on YT and for your great commentary.
