Warpaints Fanatic is the next generation of acrylic paint from The Army Painter. In this video, we go deep on the 11-bottle starter set to really get to know these paints on a whole bunch of different models. Starter sets are super important for people who are learning to paint minis, so it's actually these small boxes that really matter! I paint the knight from the box, some warhammer 40k space marines, a dinosaur from one page rules, warhammer fantasy goblins, orcs, dwarves, and beyond!

Spoilers, the new paint is MUCH better than the previous warpaint from the army painter, and this affordable little kit is quite useful! :-) These starter kits help to recruit for our hobby, and I'd like to see these in every nerdy and crafty store.

disclosure- I received this paint kit (and others) as a free sample ahead of release. I have a friendly relationship with some employees at The Army Painter. I do not have a financial relationship with the army painter.

GOSH DARN it Brent!!!! Once again we had the same idea for a video... I'm halfway through production on my version now and you can expect it to go live this weekend OOPS >_<

Awww, you called us "cordial." Everything about this set was designed with you and your audience in mind. We're confident that this Starter set will be a great way for many beginners to enter into this amazing hobby and also a great, affordable way for avid gamers and painters to give the new range a whirl! Thank you for all of your feedback, Brent!

The fact that they actually include primer in their starter set shows a lot about it actually being a starter set. Well played Army painter, well played.

I really appreciate you advocating for the practical paint names. As a protanopia color-blind person it makes painting soooo much easier!

Completely agree with you on your thoughts about starter sets, it can be so intimidating for people who are interested in minis to go into a shop and see the thousands of paint shades and such like. Little starter sets with a brush and minis is fantastic. I hope that manufacturers take note and make more starter kits with paints that are true single pigments so they can be mixed true. Having blue and yellow mix to a weird green grey can also be really baffling for newbies who know nothing of paint base pigments. Thanks for bringing this up Brent, as ever, you are an inspiration!

I love how thoughtful you are about the realities of the average hobby painter.
  • Every day you upload is a happy day. I am currently working on my nighthaunt army and love to play your videos in the background.😊
  • I wholeheartedly agree that more Youtubers should do reviews or series using basic starter kits. It is so daunting as a new painter trying to find a scheme for an army and watching content creators go through 50 different paints from 5 different brands to show how to pain a box of Tyranids… Thank you for this👍

I'm really proud of The Army Painter for listening and going for it. They hit a homerun in my book. Even though I have TONS of paint, I'm going to purchase their complete kit. I started with them and I'd love to continue with them. I haven't seen one Pro Painter put this new recipe down. #thearmypainter @TheArmyPainter

this is exactly the kind of thing that will get new people into a hobby

One of the Reaper starter kits was how I first got into this hobby. I don't think I would have made it past the barrier of entry without that first kit. Definitely agree they're super important on-ramp tools.

I never touched a brush in my life and yet I can't stop watching your videos.
  • @dagdamar2000
I always used to recommend the reaper starter sets but you had to get both of them to get all the paints you need to begin with. I am going to start recommending this set as it gives you all the colours you need. One box gives you the paints, primer, brush and mini.

I was very impressed by the coverage of that yellow. Thanks for the video Brent!

Great look at this starter set! I think you hit the right balance in disclosing your relationship with The Army Painter Brent! I think it's a win-win when active youtubers participate in the product development too!
  • I can see getting a kit for my daughter. She's used mine stuff in the past but I'm protective of my pricey paints. Her having her own to do whatever she wants with would be ideal. Good stuff, Brent!

I really appreciate your attention to detail (as always) but also your focus on diversity. Skin tones are a huge spectrum, and you are always an ally here.
