A Few Minutes At Mile End Station.

Published 2011-04-18
On my way home I needed to change trains at Mile End... whilst waiting for my train I decided to do something productive :-)

Enjoy!

It's a pity that I missed these moments in London. Year later in Stockholm I learned to stay on a station and look at the traffic for a while. That's why I love videos like this.

@JeffOrnstein01 No, it's just two different lines. One is district and one central line. East and westbound platforms.
  • @JeffOrnstein01 The step up from platform to train is normal on the Underground - only the newest sections feature train floors which are level with the platforms. As ShadyIV says, these are different 'lines' and the platform arrangement is to facilitate cross-platform interchange. The railway is 4 track east of Bromley-By-Bow, with the Underground providing the 'all stations' service and C2C operating the 'express' service. Apologies for the very delayed reply. Simon
  • @kinkisharyocoasters I dont recall where I started the journey... I probably came from a District Line station and changed to the Central Line here. Why did I not board the first train? Probably because when going home I need a train travelling via Newbury Park and that train was travelling on the Epping branch. Or, I just decided to let it pas and film it instead.
  • What station did you get on at and where was your final destination when you made this video? How come you couldn't take that first Central Line train that came? I think the step up JeffOrnstein01 is talking about is the consequence of the platform serving trains of two different sizes.

Used to be far better and noisier with CO/CP stock on the district and 62 stock on the central but I suppose i'm just getting old!
