Inside South Africa´s whites-only separatist town- My shocking experience!

Published 2024-05-03
In todays episode I share my shocking experience of my wild adventure in Orania, South Africa's infamous whites-only settlement!
As a black woman from Ethiopia, stepping into this community was like entering a whole new world.
In "Inside South Africa's Whites-Only Separatist Town: My Shocking Experience!", I spill all the tea on what went down during my trip.
Now, Orania might seem like a closed-off, mysterious place from the outside, but trust me, what went down inside will blow your mind.
Join me as I navigate the streets of Orania, meeting residents and uncovering the truths that define life in this secluded town.
Leaving Orania left me with more questions than answers. What's the deal with this place? Can we ever move past the mess of apartheid?

  • They’ve accomplished a lot of growth and development in 30 years unlike our SA government. If you live here, you’ll know what I mean. I don’t say they are not racist, but we can admit their skepticism of the South African government and the way the ANC has run the country is clearly not without merit. SA is not flourishing, growing or developing its regressing. These people are the very least of our problems or issues, they only highlight to us what our politicians are doing wrong.
  • As a black South African, I really envy those Afrikaaners living in peace . ANC came as liberators in power for 30 yrs what did they do, left our beautiful country built by Afrikaaners in ruins which is absolutely disgusting. How I wish you had a chance to visited Joburg city you would have understood what I mean. So I don't blame those Afrikaaners who chose to live the way they are. Let them be left alone in peace if possible
  • Next time your caption must be THE ONLY PACE IN SOUTH AFRICA WITH NO CRIME, an independent place free from all the anarchy.

I am a black person, and I absolutely agree with this guy 💯 . In Africa everything is broken and destroyed. They don't want hight standard for their countries.

I am black and I wish we could be like these people, but we always want to blame Whites for our problems. The ANC has been in power for thirty years and everything is a mess.
  • I'm not even SA but I don't think this guy's interview was far from the truth in his analysis. If there's no safety concern in Orania and these people enjoy living among themselves, there's no need to tarnish them as being racist because they happen to be of a certain pigmentation. It works for them, and this should be celebrated. Live your life and let other do the same.
  • That man is not racist, he is merely stating facts! What did he say that is not true? In 30 years the ANC and their cadres could not improve or maintain anything in RSA! Your kids are not properly informed if you didn't want them to hear what these people had to say. Colonialists are hated and used as an excuse for so many "hardships", but man, do we like the colonialists luxury, style, discipline, etc!?

ANC has been in power for more than 30 years. What have they done for their people and country ?? They have enriched them selves. From Uganda 🇺🇬
  • Perhaps you should do a trip to Hillbrow and compare the two places?

Look what Orania achieved from scratch in 30 years in a small dusty place in the Karoo vs the absolute mess the ANC made in 30 years.

I am a black person. I think this separatism is based on a protectionism mind. If we may rather learn from this culture and introspect our behaviours, i believe we can make strong development impact within our black communities. Littering things everywhere, having contagious mindset towards good management, always promoting insecurity in our communities with rapes, house breakings, highjacking, stealing, murdering, drug, lazziness at work. Imagine a world without such? A small heaven? I guess we must learn and correct our shortcomings...
  • Orania is a perfect model for a working community, they are independant, they do not take hand outs from the goverment, they take care of their own in all spheres, medical, education. They have a municipality that works. They have no crime, they do not complain and get on with life. There is absolutely no reason why everything in life must look like a packet of licorice all sorts, if you go to China, Japan or the Congo there are many places where people stick to their own, even in Ethiopia, just imagine if every village in South Africa had this will of self determination, what a different place this would be. They are to be admired.

You are wrong about black South Africans having a bad experience visiting Orania. I haven't heard one experience of local black visitors being treated badly in fact most of these people are impressed after visiting the place.
  • Go lady and fix your country Etiopia and show us what you can do for poor Etiopin families ! Don’t criticize working community for their hard work! These people bought this land from government and created save communities! Orania ! no crime, no drugs, do not be jealous!
  • @user-wf7ox1pu4m
Why does it bother you so much. Nuns and Monks isolated themselves into enclaves for millenia and that is a cultural thing. So unless they are harming others why do you want to change them.
  • @Kalfie-yv2ni
Only place in SA that is thriving, orderly, crimeless and safe. NO unemployment,no loitering,no begging,no littering. Clean air, clean drinking water,no sewerage problems and soon no loadshedding.... Shocking to see that it is possible? Or maybe shaken by envy?
  • @vamp8903
The only problem here is these people are not able to leave this little community alone .who are living peacefuly and minding their own business...
  • What you have seen in Orania can be accomplished amongst residents in any town if they have self-discipline and respect each other instead of going around judging what colour people are.
