I’ve seen a lot of engine tear downs in my lifetime, but nothing ever like this. You couldn’t do that to the piston with a blow torch and hammer. Truly amazing.
  • @VinnieRed71
I’d definitely try and find a complete used engine for it and skip the rebuild if possible. Good luck!
  • @peterfehr7441
He went from maybe it's just a loose battery cable, that would be amazing to, what the heck, the piston is missing. 😅😅 Never changed his tone, didn't lose it his 💩 This guy is awesome
  • I am a retired internal combustion maintenance and repairs engineer and in my opinion that engine was held flat out in neutral till it destroyed its self. That’s after its original partial seizure. I love watching your videos and hope you have a very successful life. Regards Raymond 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Oh my god, that is hilarious! In my 45 years as a professional tech, I have never seen that level of crazy. Let me guess, the owner never heard a thing.
  • @justingrady1964
That is a Hisun engine, just rebranded for Cub. Motorcycle Doctor out of Missouri is a good source for parts and knowledge on these.
  • I've watched you work through a lot of simple fixes, but this is a good reminder to people that when you shop on craigslist, you never know exactly what you're getting. Most people would be at a total loss to fix this repair, my hat is off to you. 👏 EDIT: yeah, that piston will be fine, use some J-B Weld...LOL
  • @user-xy7jf1pg4j
It amazes me how you can take everything apart and remember how to put it back together!
  • @Smooth_0perator
I was starting to think somebody removed the piston, then put the whole thing back together 😄
  • @just_golds
I'd also like to congratulate you Joe on the 400,000k subscriber level you've reached,People obviously appreciate what you do as much as me,Onwards to half million 🤙
  • Iv niver seen anything like that in my life and I'm a machanic retired. the person who sold you that knew.he has Put a scope in the plug hole and seen there was no piston. Good luck buddy you will still come out on top.

My father was a JD diesel mechanic his entire career… as with you he had a brilliant mechanical mind. I did receive that gene but your mechanical hunting skills are like his were…you folks are amazing
  • @cracknwise
Buttering my toast, listening then I hear what the Heck, the whole piston is missing! I lost it lol.
  • @willie2938
yeah, right... Lil old couple just drove it to church on Sunday. WOW, never say that happen in all my years... Good luck. I hope you can fix it. This is a really interesting one.
  • OMG. I've pulled apart and rebuild a few engines in 50+ years but never seen one do that before. Just incredible. Good luck putting this back together again, although by the looks of the damage, a replacement engine might be a lot less hassle !
  • Previous owner; "Older couple, lived on farm, low miles, low hours, driven on Sundays, quit while driving with no warning" Suuuuuuuure.

Years ago, a bunch of us guys went to a Mud Bog event for the day. What happened that day pretty much sums-up this UTV. During one of the truck runs, this 'beasty' of a truck just stopped dead in the middle of the run. Everyone watching seemed perplexed at what had just happened. Someone in our group said, "Let's ask Clarence. He's smart and probably knows what went wrong." So we asked Clarence his opinion. Clarence said, "Something must have broke!"
  • @larrywarner9314
See that green base gasket it's been replaced so at one point and time someone had that engine apart
  • @bobp9512
First off.. Joe Thank you for what you do! YOU are THE MOST IN DEPTH ! You even show twice AND THE HARD WAY! TY SIR! LOVE WHAT YOU DO! Someday you'll get "THAT EASY FIX" !!! ( though it won't make for A full content video) I wanna see it! P.S. how many Pullers do you own now? 50 or more? lol
  • @jedclampett6466
If you own a small wire feed welder here's a small tip......Don't struggle with the pain and aggravation of pulling and installing the engine. Put a .065 cut off wheel in your angle grinder and surgically remove the obstruction and weld the piece back in upon reassembly....I did this multiple times on Ford Econoline Vans 30 years ago.
