What Really Happened to Marvin Gaye's Father in Jail
April 1 is widely recognized as April Fools’ Day, a time when people often play pranks and share false news. So, when the news broke on April 1, 1984, that singer Marvin Gaye had been shot dead by his own father, many initially dismissed it as a tasteless joke. The tragic event occurred just one day before what would have been Gaye's 45th birthday. While the history of pop music is marked by the untimely deaths of many stars due to suicide, overdose, and accidents, the idea that an artist could be K by their own father was beyond belief.

So this monster who abused his son every day of his childhood has the judge find him blameless. Made me sick when it happened and makes me sick now. 😢 Marvin had the voice of an angel, a musical genius, and protected Tammy Terrell from industry wolves. 'What's going on' is a classic. Gordy didnt have the vision to see it.

What a sad sad story ! 😢 I don’t believe his father loved his son Marvin based on this report !

When the news first broke of Marvin Gays death, it was stated that it was suicide. Then minutes later it was the father’s fault. Next, it was reported that Marvin’s father didn’t want his son remembered by the way he died, so the father took the blame. Now, mind you, this was over the radio at that time. And the way the dust settled seemed odd, awkward, as if there was a slick cover-up. Marvin suffered with depression, used drugs to ease emotional pain.
  • Finally ! Patience is key in this world... Thank you for remembering the memory of this music Genius that Marvin Gaye was 40 years after his tragic death. Rip genius. You know, that I already made you another suggestion of documentary about another special person : Miss Jean Seberg. She deserves to be remembered and discovered by the new generations so thank you to make the same investigation work about the journey of this woman until her tragic death. But please don't wait 2029 to do it thank you !

I noticed something! Marvin Gaye's father died at 84 but Marvin Gaye died on April 1, 1984... Numerology
  • Who was the judge who found this unbelievably leniency ?Because I just don't understand it's whatever in the closet Idiot secretaries. He had. Himself, that is unbelievable. No bruises founded both were clowns by both accounts later on and he got away with murdering his son. It's almost like it was more than justified than jealous. It was like oh the father took this off our hands. "That was crazy."
  • Wonder why he needed an outlet. Unfortunately it was drugs. SMH. Don’t know what people go through

This is the weirdest clip I have seen. Has nothing to do with the subject matter and it keeps going back in time talking about a guys career. It’s not linear. What a mess.
