Join me for Part 1 of creating a unique brooch using Crewel Embroidery and Easy Stitching

Published 2024-06-30
In this video I'll be using some wool felt and crewel embroidery to stitch an Orange Tip Butterfly. This is Part 1 of creating a unique brooch, which is really a piece of wearable art. The stitching is easy and is mainly long and short stitch. There's also a Turkey Work tutorial. I used this stitch for the body.
Part 2 will show the construction of the brooch itself.

Hello, Marion. I always spend my Sundays sewing, and you have become my stitching buddy. 😊 I love how you demonstrate a variety of projects showing how to use the embroidery stitches you've taught. Thanks SEW much!
  • Wonderful hearing the wool go through the felt. And also a new stitch - who knew you could do that. All I could see was Dennis The Menace’s haircut. That ages me!!! Thank you Marion for this.

Thelma writes: Good morning/evening to you Marion, how lovely your butterfly is turning out. Always love watching what you bring on ideas/techniques while you chat and embroider beautiful designs, so calming. The Turkey Work is absolutely lovely. I am doing some Aster flower stitch at present and very similar to the Turkey Work. It is perfect for the butterfly body and pretty on flowers. Your are always the expert Marion. Thank you for sharing and love of who you are. Blessings to you, 💐 💐
