Years ago my husband told me that he was no longer attracted to me because of my weight. It crushed my soul and I've been carrying that around for over two decades now. The feeling of giving away my power and control in my career is so resonant! I spent 20 yrs in the corporate world climbing the ladder, and with each promotion I recognized I had less power (contradictory to what we all assume leadership roles give you, right?) so in 2020 I made the decision to pivot away from that path, and I started my own business to regain control. It has been very tumultuous time, and while I feel in control of my day to day, I don’t necessarily feel in control of the overall big picture yet.
