The "lost years" of Mary, the mother of Jesus, refer to a period in her life that is not extensively documented in the canonical Gospels of the Christian Bible. The Gospels provide relatively little information about Mary's life after the birth of Jesus until his adulthood.

In Christian tradition, it's generally believed that Mary lived in Nazareth with her husband Joseph and their family, including Jesus and his siblings. However, there are various apocryphal texts and legends that attempt to fill in the gaps of Mary's life during this time. These stories are not considered part of the official canon of scripture but are still of interest to many believers and scholars.

Some of these apocryphal texts include:

1. The Infancy Gospel of James (also known as the Protevangelium of James)**: This text, dated to the 2nd century AD, provides details about Mary's own miraculous conception, her upbringing in the temple, and her betrothal to Joseph. It also mentions the birth of Jesus and the events surrounding it.

2. The Gospel of Pseudo-Matthew**: This medieval Latin text expands on the birth narrative found in the canonical Gospels and includes details about Mary and Jesus' life in Egypt during their flight from King Herod.

3. The Gospel of Thomas (not to be confused with the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas)**: This text contains some sayings attributed to Jesus during his childhood, including interactions with his mother Mary.

4. The Gospel of Mary (not to be confused with the Gospel of Mary Magdalene)**: This apocryphal gospel includes some narratives that mention Mary's interactions with Jesus during his ministry.

5. Various other apocryphal texts and legends: These include stories and legends passed down through oral tradition or written down in various apocryphal works throughout history.

These texts vary widely in content and authenticity, and they often contain fantastical elements or legendary embellishments. While they can provide insight into early Christian beliefs and traditions surrounding Mary, they are not considered reliable historical sources.

The "lost years" of Mary remain a topic of speculation and interest for many Christians, but ultimately, much of Mary's life during this period remains shrouded in mystery.

The Blessed Virgin Mary did reside with St Luke at Ephesus. She is the source of the of the opening of Luke’s Gospel. So Mary is in the Gospels and she always stayed next to Jesus his entire life. In John’s Gospel at the wedding in Cana, she is the one who’s guides him to start his ministry. There is plenty of evidence in the sources of her life. Her death was witnessed by many people and she was assumed (not ascended) into heaven. Since the Gospels are about Jesus, the life of Mary is in the background of His life. A careful study will reveal her presence at all the stages of Jesus’s ministry. Scholars within the the East and West Catholic Church’s have done all the scholarly research for Mary’s. Historical evidence is at the church where Jesus was born, His Crucifixion and all the eyewitness which is in the Bible. Since the Bible is the final authority, it should be accepted by the Protestant, but they ignore all the sources and so do their scholars and scientists. I believe because it is true and I have faith in the original sources. Jesus loves his Mother and so should we.
  • I believe ardently that our Mother of God was taken body and soul into heaven by the angels
  • I do not care about how the Mother of our Lord lived after Jesus left, because she is with God The Father today.

Mary is in heaven with Jesus. Say the Rosary. Mary was given to us by Jesus as our mother at the foot of the cross, by giving Mary to John as his mother she also became our mother. Through Mary we are adopted children of God. When Mary asked Jesus to help the married couple at the wedding at Cana she shows us that she can help us too. When Jesus said Women what has this to do with me? Mary responded with do whatever he tells you, not only showing her power as intercessor but launching Jesus on his ministry of saving us all. When Jesus called her Women it was not a insult, but a compliment. He was establishing her as the new Eve the mother of life over death. She is Gods jewel, she is the real arc of the covenant, she is our mother. Christ shared her with us. Pray the mysteries of the rosary and she will walk you through every step of the life of Jesus. She will show you Jesus through a mothers eye. She is the daughter of God, the spouse of God and The mother of God.
  • I believe St Mary mother of God's son was taken into heaven with both body and soul.

I believe at the moment of her death Mary was taking body and soul in heaven. I also believe that Jesus crowned her the queen of heaven that she is the spiritual mother of all Christians. It doesn’t bother me that there’s no biblical proof of this. I believe that Jesus honors both has heavenly fatherand his mother and his example shows us that we should obey the fourth commandment.
  • Mother Mary is the first disciple, who gave the story of Jesus from the beginning to the gospel writers. The 12 disciples followed Jesus when Jesus was 30 years of age.But Mother Mary spoke to the gospel writers about a Jesus's life in the beginning when he was born until he was followed by 12 disciples. Eg.Jesus turned water into wine. That time his mother Mary came to Jesus and told him that the wine is finished,,Jesus told her ,"it is not my time",this conversation was among themselves, others did not know,,so how it was written in a Bible by the gospel writers is through mother Mary speaking to them..My merciful mother..Amen.
  • In christian orthodox practices, we celebrate a day called the slumber of Mary. Mary fell asleep and ascended to heaven
  • @loydadcock3687
As Christians our lives are supposed to be based on faith! My faithful heart says mother Mary ascended to heaven after death but not just her soul but her earthly she'll as well because she is the earthly mother of God Himself!!!!!
  • Mother Mary spoke in her Magnificate in the Gospels, that "All generations shall call me blessed" God gave to Himself a Mother. He also gave to us a Mother, as no one is above God. No one is more appreciative than God for what we do for Him in our lives. The Holy Trinity dealt with Mary as is fitting toward her Eternal title, the Title Theotokas: God Bearer. " Mother of God"

The historical evidence for the Assumption of Mary is that no one claims to possess the tomb or remains of Mary, despite how valuable they would be for attracting pilgrims.

I believe God would not leave the body of the Mother of Gòd to decay but was assumed into heaven. GLORY to God forever Amen 🙏👏
