My mother died in the Mh17 tragedy. "Listen to dad when I go to the flight" is the last word from my mother before the flight... RIP mother. My mother is the stewardess on the flight.

Can't believe you missed one of the biggest crashes - The Erebus disaster in 1979 where an Air New Zealand DC10 crashed into the side of a mountain in Antarctica which killed 260 people and is the only deadly crash in Air NZs history

For those who are scared, I tell you one thing, when you arrive at the airport you have already gone through the most dangerous part of the trip, as the probability of a car accident is much greater than that of a plane.

Malaysia airlines has 2 consecutive losses in the same year. First was the infomous MH370 then several months later was the MH17

Pretty scary on how many plane crashes had happened throughout the years and realize couldn’t include all but one not mentioned was flight 1771 on Dec 7th 1987; disgruntled employee hijacked plane after shooting ex boss, air crew, then put the plane into steep nose dive. There still debate whether or not he killed himself or another passenger prior to place crashing but either way, 42 people died in the murder-suicide. This happened in Southern California.

The aeroflot crash of 94 was not just the kids. The plane was a very new model and was automated. When the kids took the pilot seat the girl didn't cause anything but the boy turned the control and held on more than 30 seconds. What any of the crew didn't know was the auto pilot was designed so that any interraction with the control wheel that lasted longer than 30 seconds would disable the autopilot. It was determined along with human error Boeing hadn't been aware of this feature thus not informing the pilots. So when the pilot took his kids to the seat he was under the assumption that the autopilot was up and running the whole time. And it was until the 30th second of his son taking the seat.

There’s also Thai Airways flight 310 that crashed Himalayan mountain in 1992, it was the first fatal crashes involving Airbus A310.

Here in Brazil, there have been two air disasters in consecutive years: GOL Linhas Aéreas, mid-air collision (154 deaths) in 2006 and TAM, which collided with a building (199 deaths) in 2007.

It kinda sad to see most of the crashes in the 80s were 747s :(

You missed another fatal crash, which I witnessed myself: Nigeria Airways flight 2120 (operated by Nationair Canada) was a chartered service flying passengers from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia to Sokoto, Nigeria on July 11th, 1991. Shortly after takeoff from Jeddah, the Douglas DC-8-61 burst into flames and attempted to return for an emergency landing. Sadly, the plane crashed and all 247 passengers and 14 crew members were killed.
