    I used to drive for LA Unifed,,,yes it's union there is medical/dental and the salary is outstanding,,,,,,I dont know what the starting salary is but by now top pay is probably $24-$25/hr and if you like to drive,,it's the best school bus driving job in America,,,,,,in a day you can travel as far as Chatsworth to San Pedro and then some,,,,,,

    bus drivers report to another school to pick up few students to take them on a field trip for example- museums,parks, and places to go see of what the students are learning about in the classroom

    In some state and provinces you need a dedicated bus license.

    Ms. Tanya didn't address the hours... She begins at 5:30 a.m. and comes back into the yard at 5:00 p.m... Is 12 hours a day the usual working hours? I'm a bit confused sorry.

    I noticed there is a school bus garage a block away.  Do drivers work routes in a specific bus yard or can be assigned to any garage that the LAUSD needs on different days?
