Installing The Bathroom Vanity

Published 2017-09-08
Now that the carcass of the vanity is finished, it can be installed and the sink put in and hooked up. Like I said in the video, I need to get this cabinet in place to finish the tile base on the floor which wraps around the bottom of the vanity. In upcoming video(s) I'll build and install the three drawers, and make the drawer fronts that match.

The video (25+minutes long) where I change the plumbing:

  • I really like your plumbing set-up. It's a great idea to put the pipes as close to the back wall as possible therefore giving room for good storage in the cabinet. I've seen so many vanities where the plumber took the easy way out and left very little room under the sink due to pipes protruding out.

Love this book! youtube.com/post/UgkxpCNxqmAkyjN6NPx1fyB7QiEFWyO5m… it is simply one-of-a-kind! I really love it, because karah explained all tools required to have the job done, not mentioning the fabulous diy pallets ideas. I'm pretty sure this will be a fresh start in my new endeavour. Amazon was great, they delivered on time. Thank you!
  • Outstanding! Right to the point, well planned, no waste of time, excellently done video. Sir, you are a pro and I'm building my vanity cabinet after your instructions. Thanks and, please, keep teaching us.
  • As you were installing the vanity, I was thinking that it really seems short, which got me to thinking about how I might like to make my own counters & vanity a bit taller than normal. I'm only 6' tall, but I've always found standard height to be a pain in the back when doing dishes or shaving, etc. Seeing the sink in place made it clear why it seemed short, though. That's a very nice choice for a sink, too.

Thank you for showing us the install, it's good to see you go from the building to the install 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Looks nice John.  I also prefer latex caulk because if anything has to come apart, it is much easier to remove.

John, that is a beautiful sink top. You do such nice work! I love the full drawer vanity! The space under most vanities is really not very useful. Excellent job!

Polyurethane construction adhesive?! Who would have thought! You really do love that stuff. I keep imagining bizarre scenarios where it is the last adhesive one would expect, and imagining you using it there. :)
  • Thanks John..I would use your ideas to try and build my own vanity..God bless you for sharing.

What an awesome sink!  It'll be really easy to clean. Great build and the glued down wooden blocks on the floor are genius.
  • I'm glad I discovered your instructions. Very helpful. I went to your YT page and don't see the video showing your drawer assembly. What's the URL, please?
