Voyager's rough weather sea trials in Storm Kathleen.

Published 2024-04-21
Here’s the full length video of Voyager’s rough weather sea trials during storm Kathleen. She performed fabulously, the most challenging part being getting her off the marina in winds of storm force 10. Conditions were pretty wild at times with big breaking waves at the entrance to Cork Harbour.

Safehaven Marine primarily build strong, seaworthy commercial vessels, but when we do build luxury private yachts we employ the same design ethos, and undertake the same rigorous testing to ensure they have equal capabilities to our all-weather S.A.R. and pilot vessels, and provide the same level of safety to their crew in heavy weather.

Finally, a follow-up to the world-famous Thunderchild storm video. You guys have really nailed how a catamaran hull should perform. Amazing stuff!

Your balance is pretty decent my friend. I am a harbourmaster and walking docks during heavy swells is harder than it looks. Great video.

Nice yacht and interesting design, it seems to handle those conditions really well. I was equally impressed by the drone shots in those winds

Would have liked to see how she handles following seas.

Love the inside shots. Something about it feels peaceful. It's quiet and the boat manages so well it looks safe and cozy compared to the raging water.

Fantastic footage as always! Facing those huge breakers in a non self righting vessel is serious commitment and not for the faint hearted! Looking forward to a complete tour of this fantastic new vessel.

What beautiful lines that boat has. I would feel honoured to own something like this. Well done.

WTH did I see now?! A gliding 15m motor cat?!? Everything is insane about you guys! Wish you all the best on your maritime engineering journey!
  • Love your designs however as a designer myself I don't have faith in a design until I run the vessel down swell and see how she handles as we all know that's the true test. All boat designers show videos bucking swell for It's the impressive tack but not the dangerous tack.. Thanks again for sharing your incredible designs and videos.

It must be like riding a wild horse. Your whole body moving with the ocean. It looks pretty exhausting. Great footage. 👍
