why did apple make such a mess with the apple pencil? 💀
  • @Hopen111YT
ima just use my lead pencil and push it hard enough onto the screen till it works
  • Apple released a pencil that doesn't charge, another one that can't pair, and now the one that won't even work with an old iPad? Sounds like they're drawing up some confusing plans over at Apple
  • I feel like this should be the naming scheme 1. Apple pencil gen 1 2. Apple Pencil gen 2 3. Apple pencils gen 3 4. Apple Pencil SE

Keeping it short and simple, without a 5 minute long intro explaining the history of Apple as a company. Nice, good work.

Apple pencil is literally the only reason i'd consider an iPad, yet they decided to mess with them. Now that Samsung tablets come with a pen while being cheaper and has better compatibility with other non Apple products, buying an iPad really makes no sense.

apple pencil first gen is not compatible with every ipad in the lineup, it’s only for the ones with the home button + 10th gen ipad
  • @NeoEsLatino
Remember a year ago when it was js Apple Pencil 1 and 2?? Wouldn’t it make more sense to js call it Apple Pencil 3?
  • @HelieNerb
The first gen Pencil isn’t compatible with all iPads. It only works with lightning iPads, and the 10th gen iPad (the 10th gen is the only USB-C iPad the the first gen pencil supports) Even with the adapter, it doesn’t work with all USB-C iPads, for some reason (according to the compatibility list on Apple’s website)

only buy the pencil 1 if your ipad has a lighting port. only buy the usbc apple pen if you have the 10th gen ipad. buy the 2nd gen if your ipad supports it. buy the pencil pro if you have one of the 2024 ipads.
  • It's like Apple is trying to force us to buy a new tablet in order to use a new Apple Pencil Pro. That's sucks...
  • @XMillyyX
Apple Pencil first gen DOES MAGNETICALLY ATTACH to iPads! It’s just a lot looser than the newer pencils. But it magnetically attaches to my iPad 9th gen!

Fun fact: I have an apple pencil 2nd generation and a m2 ipad pro 11 inch and i can confidently say that the magnets are not in the dead center but infact, there are 2 magnets in the pencil and the ipad which means they could’ve fit a camera that didn’t have an ois anyways along with the magnets, the only reason they changed the design is so that people buy the newer and better ones even though everybody knows m2 is more than capable enough to handle ipad apps. The only stress i faced on the ipad was prolonged gaming sessions and video editing which would be slight faster but most of the people won’t feel the difference unless they look at it side by side.

Rotten Apple has become one of my favorite tech creators one this site

I see where they’re going with their pencil strategy. With the new iPad Pro and Air, you have two options, the cheaper USB-C pencil or the pencil pro. And i think they want to keep only these two pencils in the future, so when all iPads will be refreshed you’ll just pick if you want the cheaper pencil or the pro one. But since not all iPads have been updated yet they still have to sell all four pencils and it makes everything confusing
  • I love the haptic features of the Pencil Pro a lot more than I thought I would. My biggest complaint over the 2nd Gen Pencil, was that I would accidentally activate the double tab feature, which would switch my current brush to an eraser (or vice versa). This caused so many mistakes that I would disable it entirely. I still do this with the Pencil Pro, but at least I feel it now and can switch it back before I make a mistake while drawing.

Can't wait for,  Pencil Plus  Pencil Pro Max
  • @Maxiimus100
the og lightning apple pencil 1st generation does actually support pressure sensitivity, but the apple pencil usbc doesn’t, i suppose that explains why its 20 dollars cheaper than the lightning one
