(continued backstory)
In the future, DIANQING decided to continue to follow in her father's footsteps and join the army. She was accepted and was to be deployed to one of the military stations. By the time she arrived there was the time of MARI's death, and the group quickly grew apart. Upset at how fast the friends grew apart and tried to move on, AUBREY wrote a letter to DIANQING about what happened.
DIANQING understood the difficult situation and began exchanging letters with AUBREY and the others, trying to keep them company. She would send little gifts too every once in a while, some of the items being ones that the friends have kept to this day. As HERO became closed off in the time of MARI's passing, he wrote to DIANQING less and less, as well as with BASIL and SUNNY. Despite this, KEL and AUBREY still write to her frequently.
THREE AND TWO DAYS LEFT:
After KEL knocks on SUNNY's door and they go to pick up a present for HERO, he also tells SUNNY that according to a letter from DIANQING, she'll be coming back to FARAWAY from deployment for a month or two come tomorrow morning.
The next day, DIANQING is nowhere to be found come the afternoon, so while they waited for HERO and DIANQING to return, they run errands. After their confrontation with AUBREY and HERO saving BASIL and SUNNY from nearly drowning, the three boys spend the rest of the afternoon together. Come nightfall, KEL and HERO went over to SUNNY's house to eat dinner. As they were about to sit down to eat, a knock is heard at the door. They open it to see DIANQING, who had popped over to say hello. She apologizes for being late as the three invite her in to eat with them. Before HERO, KEL, and SUNNY go to sleep, DIANQING admits that she was late because she was talking to AUBREY. AUBREY told her about what happened back at the lake and she tells the three that AUBREY feels bad about what she did before lights out.
ONE DAY LEFT:
During the group's visit to the treehouse, AUBREY becomes upset and DIANQING tries to comfort her. AUBREY bursts out in anger, telling DIA to leave her alone and that she didn’t understand what it was like to lose MARI since DIA was away at that time. AUBREY instantly became a little ashamed of what she said as DIANQING explained that she did know what losing someone felt like because of the death of her family (she hadn’t told anyone about her family before) and that she was only trying to help. After talking about the importance of family and looking out for eachother, DIANQING managed to convince AUBREY to apologize and the group all made up with a group hug and went over to BASIL’s house for a sleepover. After sharing a heartfelt conversation, the group fell asleep and DIANQING could be found reading near a nightlight as SUNNY confronts BASIL.
After the two boys were knocked unconscious from their battle, they were rushed to the hospital. If the good ending is chosen, DIANQING can be found with the others by BASIL’s hospital bed as SUNNY tells them the truth.
If the bad ending is chosen, DIANQING confronts SUNNY on the rooftop of the hospital. She refuses to let SUNNY jump, and SUNNY attacks her, which launches into a battle sequence. At first, she refuses to fight back and tries to convince SUNNY to let her help him. If she is defeated, a second phase will begin where she does fight back, but she doesn’t give up trying to talk to SUNNY. If SUNNY defeats her a second time or pushes ‘QUIT’ once defeated, he follows through and initiates the end of the bad ending. If SUNNY steps down or pushes ‘CONTINUE’ after being defeated, DIANQING will hug him and tell him something heartwarming before taking him back down to the others in the hospital room, initiating a secret last-chance route to the good ending.
lead skills:
Intimidation - Stares down the enemy, causing the enemy to become AFRAID. She also uses this move in the battle against Sunny on the hospital roof.
Protectivity - If a party member’s health drops below 40%, regardless of who’s turn it is, DIANQING will become FURIOUS and unleash a critical hit on the enemy. She has a chance to then become ashamed of her outburst and turn SAD.
extra / random:
- Talking to her while she’s on your party will unfold a dialogue text where she asks if you’re tired and offers to carry you. If the player selects [YES], DIANQING will give you a piggyback ride and you can control her while on her back. Doing this will gradually restore energy.
