In August 2018, stunt riding and rear wheeling on public roads became illegal in France in order to cope with the more than 15,000 stunt rides recorded in 2017 alone. France’s growing Bikelife community now faces penalties of up to five years imprisonment and € 75,000 fines. We follow Soryder, one of the most famous street riders of the French Bikelife just before the new law came into force. Soryder quickly rose to social media fame in 2014, after rear wheeling in a video shot in the streets of Paris suburb Vitry that got one million views in three days. Subsequently, he was invited to show his talents at the Martin Luther King Day in Miami and around the world. In order to continue to live his passion freely, Soryder has decided to turn to the world of professional racing. We capture Soryder’s and the Paris Bikelife scene’s last stunt riding outings before the law came into force.
