Red Bull is famous for extreme stunts. In this risky 'plane swap' stunt, two pilots were supposed to swap planes mid-air. Unfortunately, only one pilot was succesful while the other aircraft crashed. Both pilots are safe.

Red bull gives you wings, the FAA takes them away.
  • Walking up to a helicopter with an unsecured chute. Absolutely a genius stunt.

These two pilots have just been grounded by the FAA. "RedBull takes your wings"

"Red Bull pilot chopped in half by propeller while attempting dumass stunt"

When I saw how close he got to the propeller, my heart almost stopped.😱
  • @frankz5864
Holy smokes, see how close that guy comes to the prop as he gets back in?
  • @Skybolt211
I was curious how they were gonna keep the prop from windmilling and how they were gonna make sure to stay out of it. Looks like neither problem occurred to them, as close as he came to getting shredded. He was dead level with the prop, moving towards it very fast IN THE AIR, before he dropped back and grabbed the spar. Heck, I do some stupid stuff, but I wouldn't run straight toward that prop ON THE GROUND.

This suggests a new way for airlines to handle passengers who become disruptive mid flight: offer them a different flight, or a safe return to the ground, all without having to divert the plane they are on from its scheduled destination.

I heard about this on our local radio station. They said both of these guys lost their licenses over this stunt.
  • @TheDingus9
Man more stunts like this are going to make it harder for private pilots in general!
  • BlancoLerio says that they did not have FAA permission, and in fact did this after having permission expressly denied. If true, these guys are going to be taking a long vacation from flying anything.

It’s bizarre. Red Bull doesn’t even taste nice. Why do we let them spoil every adventure sport?
  • @tomwoot9501
it seems like redbull is trying to make it seem like it was no big deal because the other plane "landed with the parachute" but notice how they cut it and don't show any pictures? it's because it smashed into the ground prop first destroying the other plane, not damaging it. definitely one of the sketchiest stunts they've done
  • @spadgm
Trevor Jacob approves of this stunt!
  • @lazboy388
Yeah lets cut off the part right as the plane is about to smash into the ground.. brilliant camera work there.. absolutely brilliant!
  • I remember when people would just watch in awe as people do crazy stunts like this. Now it’s a bunch of people commenting “what a bunch of idiots, this is dangerous!”. Like, yea, that’s the point. They are putting on a show. It’s not like they didn’t map out the area and plan this all out. I agree, they should have waited for FAA approval, but they still performed an insane stunt!

Me at the start, "This should be pretty cool." Me @1:30 looking at the exposed prop. "Nope. Sh!t. This is an awful idea."
