Shawn Palmer is one of the very few really good, knowledgeable horsemen in this region. Everybody knows him and everybody goes to him for advice. He really is a great guy and I'm honored to have him as a friend. His wife is the sweetest and is gorgeous too! She has the most crystal blue eyes I've ever seen.

Shawn does a great job. He has always given us due dates that were never more 2-3 days off.

Loved Shawn's story about roping/tackling the sheep. That was a laugh-out-loud moment. Totally understand your "dates". My husband and I go for rides and usually stop for supper somewhere in one of the towns close by. So nice just taking the time and talking while riding around viewing the countryside. Enjoy your trip to France.

I used to raise two different breeds of sheep and I had a couple of Great Pyrenees dogs to protect our sheep (& a few goats). After not being very happy with the first breeder we took our Great Pyrenees mama to, we decided to get our own male to "do the job" as you said. On her first cycle he was still pretty young. So we did the "wait & see" and sure enough she went into labor. She had 12 puppies on her first litter, but she didn't get as big with her in house boyfriend. After one puppy we waited and waited- and no more puppies came. We took her to our vet to make sure there were no more puppies stuck inside her. Turns out instead of a litter, she only had a "lit"!! And that is our young sire story!

Good decision not to medicate her into heat while she is nursing that beautiful baby. I have been through that, and it did not work out.

Greatest sheep story I Ever heard!

Sometimes you have to make decisions. Like what time of the year do you want the foal to be born? This late in the year, if Chippy doesn't manage to figure it out soon, you may have to wait till spring, or risk having a foal born too late in the year. 🤔💖😉 And I definitely call this a date! You went out for sodas! 💖💖💖

Anytime spent together is a date, especially when you love each other like you two.❤ Hey Alan , never keep secrets from Vicky. She can keep a secret. It's to bad no foal yet, but you will make the right decision, they are your horses. We had an old draft mare who never foaled until the 2 year old stallion got it done. No one thought it would happen or possible. There is never a right or wrong, only what you feel is right. I can hardly wait for colts to be born. Bless the Palmer family in all they do. Communications with foreign countries, we had wonderful Olymics in Salt Lake, it was successful because of so many volunteers assist from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That was one of the biggest pluses in the fact we were just honored with putting on 2034 Winter Olympics.
