""I love movies." - Joel Haver" - Scott Cramer. Going to the theater is one of my favorite things to do. As the wise Nicole Kidman once said, heartbreak feels good in a place like this. Let's talk about it.

The fact that you TOLD me you rented out a movie theater and I still thought it was a sick greenscreen at first lol
-
"Find out why that guy rented out the whole theatre room yet?" "Yeah, he just sorta sat, and talked to himself for about an hour, eating popcorn; while his wife was watching stuff on her phone." "Weird..."

Having ADHD, I love that the movie theatre forces me to turn off my phone and focus on the communal experience of storytelling. I grew up going to the movie theaters and I completely agree with the magic of it. THANK YOU! šš¼šš¼šš¼ and god bless Greg Marcus! (From Wisconsin)

Iām convinced every Scott Cramer video is the result of him going down a rabbit hole after having a shower thought and I love it
-
the people complaining about the price of snacks have clearly never experienced the joy of sneaking 4 big happy meals (with drinks) in your Nanas purse

The problem with theatres isn't the venue, the cost, or even the inability to pause for a pee break...it's dealing with the obnoxious people around you who either won't shut up or won't leave their phones in their bags and pockets for the duration of the film.

The only thing more magical that seeing a movie at the theater, is seeing a movie at the theater alone, with nobody else in the theater. Iāve had it happened to me twice where I went to see a movie, and I was the only one who bought a ticket, and they still showed the movie. I felt like I was a millionaire who rented out the whole theater, but it was just a Monday evening.

My favorite theatre brand ad were the cell phone PSAās that AMC ran in the 2000ās. It was essentially a fake movie trailer that would be interrupted halfway through by the classic Nokia ringtone ringing in a single speaker in the theatre, then the trailer would break the 4th wall and address the interruption. It got me every time! Especially when they made a new one.

scott exhibits a childlike wonder for the world stretching into adulthood, which i greatly appreciate because i also tend to be that way and i am constantly made fun of for it. i see myself in scott, like he says things that make me think "YES that's what I've been thinking this whole time too." scott's videos genuinely remind me that i'm not the only one maintaining an appreciative wonder for the simple things in the world and that i'm not alone.

iām giving up on my local theatre thatās had āweāll be coming backā sign for FOUR YEARS!

i LOVE going to the movie theater. i grew up poor af (and still am) so my parents never took me and i had major fomo š i finally started going when i was 15 and iāve loved it every time. itās super expensive and occasionally i end up seated next to inconsiderate folks who talk / sit on their phone the whole time, but overall itās magical. thereās nothing like that level of surround sound, darkness, and a giant screen š„¹everyone getting lost in another world! itās so special! also iām SICKKK of people complaining about ālongā movies š let us get our moneyās worth! and let directors execute their vision! dune 2, renaissance and oppenheimer were INCREDIBLE to experience in a theater!

As a Wisconsinite and movie theater fan, thank you Scott for enlightening the greater internet on they joy of Marcus theaters and the living meme Greg Marcus. Hope you can experience the beauty of the Ultra Screen someday. It's truly a great experience.

As a movie theater employee. I respect you for getting the word out

falling asleep at the movies is one of those dad superpowers. every time my dad would take me to the movies as a kid, 100% guaranteed that he'd be asleep after 30 minutes

I wish AMC never changed their intro from the guy being surprised and spilling popcorn to the guy being surprised and NOT spilling his popcorn. Anyways, to the point of the magic of movie theaters - I swear that there's some magic seeing a movie on the big screen. When AMC was showing all the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies, it legitimately made me emotional watching them again, even though I've seen them so many times. Do I know the plot by heart? Yes. Did it still cause me to cheer and cry and experience all sorts of other emotions? Absolutely yes. I know for a fact I don't have the same experience watching it at home.

My mom and brother hate seeing movies in theaters. But that means when Iām home, my dad and I just HAVE TO go see a movie together. I love the anticipatory chat on the way to the theater, picking perfect seats, the movie itself, and then our post-movie chat on the drive home. Canāt beat those chances to connect with my dad.

I am an AMC A-List member and try to go to the theaters at least once a week after work if I donāt have anything going on that evening. Cannot express just how beautiful of an experience it always is and how good for my mental health having that full escape can be. Absolutely hope more people start coming back to theaters, itās a community experience

Hearing "on your 30 inch tv against the wall not mounted" was kinda scary because I'm watching this video on my 32 inch tv while it's propped up against a chair because I'm too lazy to mount it š never felt so called out
-
fun little fact; in Sweden they use an edited version of that Nicole Kidman ad in theaters aswell. They cut out the part about AMC bc obviously we donāt have that in Sweden but otherwise itās the exact same ad

Prices are insane at theaters now. Kids and I can do so much more for longer for less. Takes something special to get me out to theaters now.
