The Best Madden EVER??? Madden 2005

Published 2021-02-02
EA Sports was not always the huge sell out company they are today. Look no further than Madden 2005 and you will find one of the last great Madden games ever made. At the time of it's release SEGA was still developing ESPN NFL 2K games and at the time MADDEN had huge competition. These were the glory days for NFL Games. There were multiple studios and multiple publishers making competitive football games. Madden 2005 still holds up today and still holds up well against the newest games EA is releasing. This is retro football at its finest.

Madden 2005 hands down has to be one of the best maddens. I loved the franchise mode, it actually made your league feel like a living breathing world. Presentation wasn’t there like nfl 2k5 but they made big strides with this years game.

That Tony Bruno radio show was a game changer! It's disappointing that it's one of the features among many that EA let fall to the wayside. When Madden 05 1st came out, I used to always think about how good the game would be 10-15 years down the line. Unfortunately, it's worse than its ever been, three console generations later, smh. 🤦🏿‍♂️

This video made me want to pull my Gamecube out and start a lions franchise

I’m gonna bust this game out and start a new franchise again after watching this! This IS the best madden ever! Great vid!

I couldn’t agree more. Madden 2005 was by far the best one I played in the series. While I preferred more arcade-style football games like NFL Blitz, Madden 2005 was the best playing sim football game. Great review man, and glad to see I wasn’t the only one who thought that was the best installment! Oh, and microtransactions are garbage. During this 6th generation, developers ensured their games had a ton of content (usually). Nowadays though, almost everyone is capitalizing on the idea and it’s truly awful.
  • I had a few Maddens growing up. My rule was I'd get a Madden after each season the Pats won the Super Bowl (My favorite team, and no I'm not a bandwagon fan. They were my favorite long before Brady arrived. Big fan of Bledsoe and Curtis Martin) Anyway, Madden 2005 was one of them and I remember all the awesome features that came with it. Watching this video which goes into great detail about the amount of love Madden 05 received really makes me want to go back and play it. Great job explaining WHY Madden 2005 was such a great game.

I love the presentation of the game. If only they had the same speed button for both sides of the ball it'd be near perfect for me.

Fans are to blame too until they stop buying trash wont change
  • @mattroach2345
They did have the accelerated clock feature that stops this game from dragging out

Dope review, makes me wanna pull out the PS2!
  • @targetegrat
It was mind blowing in 2005 that you could aubile the whole linebackers group to blitz/stay in coverage with the touch of a button.

NFL 2K5 & Madden 2005 might be the top 2 of all time.
  • @DuckAvenger
Poor Madden 2005 I know a lot of people that didn't buy it because the mad 2k5 19.99. only Madden I didn't buy since 1999.
  • @dhosea101
For me 2003 is number 1. 07 is 2 and 05 is 3. Top 3 maddens of all time. No disrespect to 2004, that ones fire but I love 03-05-07 a lot more.
  • @OJC1235
Definitely one of the best. You can probably make a case with Madden 08 on the PS2 but I think Madden 05 was the best.
  • @jayjonah1227
Now have can I get updated rosters & coaches on this game?! If that's possible, I'll buy a PS2 & game just to bring it back. 👀
  • @daveschlet
I also super sim defense. What was the first Madden that had that feature again?
  • @johnfoster2584
I do the exact same thing with supersim and can get a realistic number of offensive plays and plays overall for game stats.
