I'm just coming the end of the MIG part of my UK level 2 City and Guilds and after this I can't wait to start stick welding again, loved it on my level 1 course. Just so much sound advice in this video clip, great instruction from an awesome instructor. Thank you 🤜🤛

Memories of welding school at Hobart in Troy, Ohio - where they make the machines. One of the best welding schools in the world. They knew how to turn out welders from raw recruits. This video shows proper arc gap very well. Nice work.

  • Every time I watch doesn’t matter the time day or night I wanna go grab my hood and burn some rod!!!! Great informational video. Started a new company about 6mnths ago and had to do my 3G it had been a while since I tested last company I was with for 5yrs. Did a 6G with them but the new company wouldn’t except theirs

I used my GI Bill to go to welding school 12 years ago. Best moved I’ve ever made.
  • Put some strong backs on the root side, with a mouse hole cut out . Ie two pieces of 12mm thickness flat bar, with a half circle cut out in middle of flat bar , doing this also will stop the plate being tacked on the root. And keep the plate welded more flat ,unless this has been preset for distortion.

When doing these full penitration welds we always preheat and use a needle gun between each pass to destress. Also post heat to to the same. All of our welds are ultrasound tested as well. Been welding for over 35 years, so much poor welding out there! Hopefully your video may help!

Very nice quality welding, the amount of deflection on the test plate is insane, we always put some offset pre deflection on plates of this thickness but I dont think we would have got anywhere near this.
  • Beautiful 1" test plate, I had to chuckle at all of your comments as you were filling it up, after welding for over 45 years, ( now retired), and full penning welds on plate and wide flange beams as heavy as 700 lbs a foot, I've done and said everything you have just said to myself as I was filling joints up to a cover pass, always trying to make that Cover perfect, lol, you look like a great welder, hope these young guys and gals pay attention to you, they will learn some good stuff!! Great video, thanks...... and best of Luck to your channel. My GI bill put me through welding school in the 70's. Made a good living all my life, welding is a vital trade for anyone willing to actually work for a Living!
  • Im a young beginner this gave me so much knowledge and actually now seeing it i am eager to start practice this is the video i have been waiting for you guys teach me everything i need to know and learn 💯
  • Great video Rosendo and WeldTube Team🤜🏽🤛🏽💯 Makes me want put my hood on and weld !
  • @Erik-gg2vb
See that pull. That is why weldments need to be stress relieved.
