Today we're diving into the best effects built right into After Effects! That's right no plugins and not sponsored! The 30 effects on this list are the ones that have helped the most when creating VFX, motion graphics, animations, and color correction in After Effects. The reason these effects are considered the Top 30 Best Effects, is because they run fast, are versatile, and super effective for a number of use cases when working on projects in After Effects. That means they get a well-deserved Black Mixture stamp of approval! Anyways, I'm excited to share these with you and I hope this helps you save time, as you get to creating in After Effects.

great video! I would add shift channels, and set alpha to luminance inside the effect to composite smoke/fog better than screen mode. Also to create RGB splits

  • I love this video! All these years I didn't really understand what after effects was which is like you said basically Photoshop for videos. Do you ever use curves to make a vignette? It makes a nicer vignette rather than using "vignette" which uses black to darken the edges, make a feathered mask in curves, invert it, it darkens the colors, it looks more natural. I learned about making a vignette using curves from my Dad, he's been using Photoshop since the 90s.
