  • You’re the best! Two days with an open sunroof of my Mas, hoping it wouldn”t rain. After bringing it it to the garage, where they weren”t able to help me, I ran into your video. Jumped into the car and fixed it. Thanks a lot!

Thanks so much for putting these kinds of videos out!! They really do help.
  • Thanks very much for this video! My 2006 Hyundai Tucson sunroof was 'almost' closing in the tilt mode. It was showing enough gap that a popsicle stick (for example) could slide through the gap. This caused a fair amount of noise on the highway. I tried lubing all tracks and joints that I could see (and used Armour-All tire treatment on the rubber gasket), but it still wouldn't close any further. Screws weren't accessible via the sunglass case — but popping out the map-light lenses (with a small flat screwdriver, as per owner manual) exposed the screws. I took them out to get at the motor and used the 4mm Allen key trick to put more pressure on the closing mechanism. The glass would still not come to a full close, so I firmly pounded on the back edge of the glass with my hand. This did the trick, to drive the window into a fully-closed position. Before putting the map-light assembly back in place, I operated the tilt switch numerous times, to make sure it was seating properly. I also followed the reset procedure from the owner's manual, but it didn't seem to do anything more. As we're into winter now, I won't play with it any more — but the 'slide' option is not working at all. I recall a few months ago that it made a noticeable 'click-click' noise when coming back to closed. "Better lube that," I thought... but didn't get to it. I finished off my Sunday by lubing my Nissan's sunroof tracks as well. It's operating more smoothly and swiftly now.

Worked perfectly and in less than 5 mins (while drinking 2 beers) for my 2011 Touareg. So easy! Manually closed and disconnected sunroof motor so it doesn’t happen again. Thank you for posting this video!

Thanks! I was able to close the sunroof of my 20 year old Focus wagon! The motor is probably toast, but can wait. This saved my holiday budget- big time!

  • Great video! 2011 Odyssey. I couldn't remove the headliner so I removed the console pulled it down the headliner a bit and made a razor knife slice where the allen wrench needed to go. Pushed wrench through the fabric and it worked like a dream! Thanks! this video was a gift!
