The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is an independent, coeducational, privately endowed university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Our mission is to advance knowledge; to educate students in science, engineering, technology, humanities and social sciences; and to tackle the most pressing problems facing the world today. We are a community of hands-on problem-solvers in love with fundamental science and eager to make the world a better place.

The MIT YouTube channel features videos about all types of MIT research, including the robot cheetah, LIGO, gravitational waves, mathematics, and bombardier beetles, as well as videos on origami, time capsules, and other aspects of life and culture on the MIT campus. Our goal is to open the doors of MIT and bring the Institute to the world through video.

I so wish Mitch Resnick's work was more broadly known. Most educators I talk to have never heard of him. His philosophy of the "instructivist vs. constructivist" approach (based on Papert's and Piaget's work) is the fundamental conflict we have in modern education.
  • Fascinating introduction indeed. It leaves a lot of questions open but I valued the way the two panelists make us think using their experience from the learning/teaching trenches along with that of building tech-based tools.

Great talk. I guess lot of people came to watch the video expecting something "more practical ". That could explain the small number of likes. But mine is one of them. Thanks to the presenters! 👍😎🇨🇺🇲🇽🇺🇸

I am from Nigeria. I believe we should build an AI Academy. Most of our schools and curriculum have now become obsolete with the Advent of generative AI. Our children can achieve high level education in a shorter time now. The information at their disposal is simply terrific

Education as we know it is *over*. Either get use to it or get out of the way. These guys probably need to get out the way...

Fishing is ? A concept about sudden Trape and profit earn, AI about fish feeds and attraction, modern and choices and Treaps of Hackings, Jesus Say to a Fisharman was Fishing and was worrid, tell him come to mee and learn more fishings"
  • Lifelong, most of my teachers were women (thank you, all). But on stage, all men teachers talking. The only woman, one of 5 total. Does MIT know math? 1 in 5 is 20% not 51% or more. And that one woman was there in servant function. Not bringing coffee, but introducing. Introducing the male experts to speak about a field where I personally had mostly women teachers.
