Good info and logic....I went with the 5.7 charger I was going to get a GT until I heard the 5.7 start up and that changed things for me lol then I wanted a Scatpack but with the price of the car and insurance I decided the R/T was right for me....I'm not racing or doing burnouts or such so as long as it looks and sounds good I'm good....cool vid subbed đź‘Ťđź‘Ť
  • I have a 6.4 Hemi Challenger Shaker. Love it! ❤️ it's Octane red

The 5.7 R/T works great for me, Dodge really wanted way to much for the Scat Packs in my state for there 50th anniversary. Insurance, maintenance and fuel costs were also major concerns for me. The R/T works good for me as a cruiser, people try to street race me and buzz past me all the time, rather than dumping more mods into the engine, instead of blowing cash trying to make my car faster, I did audio upgrades instead. All speeding around does, unless it’s on a race track is get you tickets. I drove 2 Chargers both V6’s for daily commuter cars before switching to Challenger and 300 horses was actually plenty. To me the Hemi is more of a novelty, guess what there is always a faster car and unless you make a living racing like Vin Diesel in The Fast and Furious. Look at your budget folks.
  • Fun fact I'm getting better mpg in my 6.4 than I did in my 5.7 and both were manual

Hello.i follow you on ig. I traveled from Florida to Colorado and I think the 6.4 did awesome.got to 22mpg,but weirdly the mpg went higher in track mode

And here I was happy with my 1999 3.8l Mustang with 190hp lol. I have a 6.4 Scat now.

where are you in this intro in the white challenger up till 1 min? what a great cruise road
  • Not gonna lie you’re right if you keep both bone stock with ZERO UPGRADES. The 5.7 is the best modable engine and with the right work can beat a hellcat or a demon naturally aspirated brotha. So it depends what you’re gonna do because everyone upgrades their car to an extent and the 6.4 is huge and has limitations that the 5.7 can accept and it’s lighter. Literally a header install and a tune and you’re on a Scat Packs ASS.

The 5.7L in the Challenger/Charger/300 is a great engine with torque that punches quite a bit above it's size. The downside is that Dodge hobbled it with low-flow intake/exhaust manifolds and emissions/economy/warranty-favoring factory ECM tuning, and as a result, the power drops off very quickly above 5000 rpm (HP peak is 5150 rpm for the cars). In fact, on the truck version, the 5.7L has active intake runners which extend the HP peak to 5600 rpm (and the truck has 395 HP instead of 375 as a result). (If you're the type that will never take the car above 5000 rpm, you will LOVE the 5.7L and if you rarely take it above 4000 rpm, the 6.4L would probably be a complete waste for you to buy.) The problem, if you ever want to modify the 5.7L to optimize it like the 6.4L is (just based on size ratio, the 5.7L SHOULD put out ~430 HP), it will cost you several thousand dollars.

I can't find a challenger scat pack with the shaker hood option with a good deal. I don't want to get the 5.7 because i know i won't be happy with it. Im not sure if should buy used or new. Should i look for a 2018 or 2019? 2020s are not fitting my budget unfortunately. Can't decide and these car are hard to find in NY :(

I own a 5.7L Charger. The best part about this car is: It gives you immediate feedback for the mods that you throw on it. My first mod was a 85mm throttle body. super easy to install, and the result was "holy sh*t." Then I did a diablo can tune on it. it was not "holy sh*t", but still pretty significant. I will do a shorty header on it next month and get an e-mail tune from hemifever. I'm really exited about it.
  • Is the 5.7 the same as a 392? Whats the difference between them? Can someone pls explain im trying to understand these engines.
  • save money get the 5.7 its more mod-able ( if that can even be a word lol)
  • @Murphys_Law9
6.4 is obviously better but it comes down to your budget
  • @AngelJLBap
Love my r/t its my daily and my cool mom car🤣 like that i dont need to put premium in it as well
  • @H3mif4v5r
The 5.7 is also quite easier to reach hellcat power in lol.. ur just gonna have to boost it.
