Redesigning EQUESTRIA GIRLS CHARACTERS (because they deserve better)!! (part 2)

Sunset could look really good with some dark, very desaturated purple... but MAGENTA? that doesn't go with basically anything! There was so much magenta everywhere for a while... Character designs like in Equestria Girls, but also games (looking at you, Sims 4. and not favorably)

I always thought that starlight glimmers EQG design was so weird, like she is SO clearly a vintage girly, why did that make her a hipster?? It has to be exclusively because of the colour palette

I love Trixie being the shortest of the three, really suits her

i think the og starlight equestria design was based off that one scene where starlight was emo crying in her room in friendship is magic. in my eyes she's like a closet emo lol

after seeing this i am not above begging you to redesign Luna, THEY BUTCHERED HER SO HARD LIKE HOW??? also the designs are really cool! :D

I'm really happy about retro inspired Starlight, she was literally introduced with a Beehive. I think that's what her mane looks like, anyway. I really like the idea of her stepping just a few decades forward when she get's her good person redesign.

LOOOOOOVE the Trixie design, I always imagined (bc she is) having very geeky, flashy clothing bc she’s so into the magician stuff and she wants to be in the spotlight, being great and powerful!! I never really understood people saying she would wear something wimsigoth because the colors are so desaturated and they give off a laidback vibe which Trixie truly isn’t at all and I love her for that (no hate to the style, absolutely love it but it’s just not really Trixie). But either way, just love how you designed her as someone who’s always loved Trixie ever since she first appeared on mlp 🫶

Imma be honest... Starlight Glimmer's outfit reminds me of Gideon from Gravity Falls when he tricked the town into thinking he's psychic. But it suits Starlight so well so I'm not complaining!! The magician look for Trixie is also amazing!! And Sunset to me, absolutely looks great in blue! You did wonderful!! :3

I love your designs! They're so fun. Also, I actually thought the green eyes and purple hints were there because, in that order, they're complimentary colours of red and yellow. I can't be sure if that was the designers intentions though. 😂 It's cool to know about the colours meaning too.

Starlight's human design could be a reference to how she apparently had a goth/emo phase as a teenager, as evidenced by her old room in her hometown. Since in EG she's technically a teenager again it kind of sort of makes sense for her fashion to be a timeshifted.

I really like your redesign of Trixie! The short hair really works because it makes her new vibe remind me of Mary Poppins, which overall accentuates her personality (I hope that makes sense). However I would've kept it rather long, just because long hair usually signifies elegance, which I think is another part of Trixie (elegant, mysterious and magical). But watching you lean into her more upbeat and nerdy side is super cute, and the hair really topped it off!

Starlights shoes legit look like a pair of short gumboots that i own! The shade is almost the exact same!! (The gumboots are more like horse riding boots in style - just woth out the elastic window on the sides)
