Xbox Series X vs PS5 Slim - Best Console To Buy in 2024

i own a XSX and i'm not having "constant updates". You have slow internet yet you can afford a $500 console?

1:50 you can turn the updates off on the Microsoft Series X (for the games updates, not the system) when you go online.

Haven't bought a Xbox Series X yet, waiting to see if XSX gets a redesign/improved 6 nanometer SOC and larger SSD later this year.

My first console was a PS1. I am going to stick with PlayStation. I had all the PlayStation consoles from 1-5. I also had an Xbox 360, One, and Series X and S. To be honest, I got bored with Xbox and I personally enjoy PlayStation. That’s just me. And I got more friends on PlayStation than Xbox. And I did beat the Halo Infinite on Xbox and I was bored with it, on PlayStation, I beat the god of war ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West and I really enjoyed those games and I can’t stop playing them.

I have both and to tell you if i could only have one It would be the Xbox x just because there is more games with game pass and then 360 games on the backwards. The ps5 don't get me wrong it's good but once you beat the exclusives you really don't have much to do on the ps5 and I just keep going back to my Xbox x. Then the controller is nice on the ps5 but if you get the elite 2 control for the xbox it's right there with the ps5 controller. Then with the xbox and the quick resume you can be from it off to playing on and 45 seconds which is great too.

Can someone help me choose? I want to build a setup with ps5 or Xbox and I don’t know what to choose. I love the feel of the Xbox controller and the console (in my opinion) looks way better than the ps5. I just don’t know any games on the Xbox. Many of my friends play on the PlayStation but I don’t really like their controllers and the console looks a bit wierd. I really like their games though and most of my friends have PlayStation. I’m so stuck I don’t know, what are some good games on Xbox?

I used to be a xbox guy but ps is kinda better the xontroller the games, as i prefer single player

If you want better exclusives, go with Ps5. Gamepass is the better subscription. Ps5 plus a series s for portability and Gamepass might not be a bad combo.

So I got anyone that’s looking for a console for competitive-based gaming. If you play FPS strictly, I’d say get the playstation as it has a lower input-delay on the dualsense controllers, (Been tested to be around 3ms compared to the series x controllers which is 7-8ms). Especially if you play older cods on the series x, you can feel the delay, but Forza is a beautiful game for the series x, also series x is noticeably quieter than the ps5, if that’s something you care about as well. Over-all, I still think buying a ps5 could subjectively be better and maybe grab a series s on the side. Hope that helps.

Question for people. Currently have the xsx, but really only play a few games here and there like PGA tour. Hate reaching for the headset to plug into the controller. Also use the thing mainly for home theater and YouTube. Would like to have the built in mic on the PS5 controller to use for searches etc. PLUS have a soft sport for the metal gear games and final fantasy game from when I was young . Should I switch to the PS5 slim ? How's the audio decoding and compatibility for home theater on the PS5 slim ... Better ? Have a new sony 75 inch TV and Samsung q990c sound bar .... (My separate home theater is a whole other thing in another room.... This set up with sound bar and TV is just for my living room )

I got the Xox series X because of the activison/blizzard deal,along with backwards compatibility and Gamepass. Best move I made glad I skipped the PS5. While,still,a great system for 1 player action adventure games with the cinematic scenes Xbox is better for me

If you don’t have WiFi you can still play disc games with the PS5 if you don’t have WiFi with Xbox you need WiFi other wise you can’t play anything

Well said man, What's crazy is I'm the exact same as you. I play RD2 and Elden Ring on my Series X but I hardly ever turn my Series X on because I love my PS5 and I've had an Xbox since the first one, so I'm not a PS fanboy. The PS5 just won me over and its my favorite console of all time...I think? The PS2, N64, and Dreamcast were huge for me...and the Super NES but I think the PS5 is my all time favorite now. ITs so good :D

Neither because you have to pay for online and no mods, so pc beats both in every way. Plus PlayStation forces you to pay a monthly fee if you want to keep your saved data so screw that.

I like a lot of stuff from ps5 but I'm an xbox main both great consoles
