We have two cats that have been inside cats for a while now, and one outside cat that keeps getting hurt and is now permanently injured. So we wanted to build a catio so that they can still experience the outside but be safe from predators and cars as well. We live on a busy road and want our cats safe!!!
So we built a free catio from what we had leftover or found for free!!!

That is so ghetto! I don't have one, so yours is better than mine! Only way you learn is to build it. Hey,if you take a roller to the mesh with black paint,the screen will virtually disappear.

I would definitely recommend upgrading the roof to something more permanent but it’s great to see people make stuff with free or cheap materials.

I see an awful lot of raw edges. You need to get at some of those ends with sandpaper so your kids don't get slivers. Also, get some weather protection on the raw wood or it's not going to last very long.

You can find a large branch off a tree and put it in the catio, going crosswise, some plants, non toxic of course and some pillows from the thrift store lol on the shelves. I have 12 cats all rescues, where I am people just toss cats out , so I'm gonna copy you ! ❤ Amazon carries small ceiling fans which plug in. I use them on my front porch for my outside cats , 3 of the twelve, in the summer. Winter I use totes on their sides with an electric throw over the top and hanging down the front opening. baby blankets inside from thrift store of course, and they stay warm. Let us know how the plastic roof holds up. When I grew up, the mantra was use it up, wear it out, do it over or do without lol.
