Video shows Hawaii wildfires spreading across Maui

I was married there two weeks ago. Every place we visited is gone. The restaurants, the Luau, the harbor. We're in tears for the people of this beautiful island. May God be with you tonight and for the recovery to come. Please help and pray if you can. 🙏💜

Lahaina is such a historic town with so many places and commodities that simply can't be replaced. Was one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have ever been in my life. So many memories burned away... I pray for the people impacted and hope that they can raise enough money/courage to build it back!

Oh Maui, my heart breaks for you.

Many condolences.. Before rebuilding, Maui homeowners could learn from the 1993 Laguna Beach fire where only one home in Mystic Hill was the only left untouched by it—-was spared due to its construction and landscape design. The house featured double-pained glass which helps keep heat from igniting the draperies inside the house, a tile roof sealed with concrete on the ends to keep sparks out, and stuccoed eves to hide any exposed wood. Landscaping zones of fire resistant plants also helped. Ron and Lona Ingwerson were the owner of that home.

I worked as a travel nurse and lived in Lahaina. It was so beautiful. I'm devastated. All my prayers go out to the families. I never dreamed this would happen here. 😥🙏❤‍🩹🙏

Maui is one of the most beautiful places in the World. The closest to the Garden of Eden or Paradise that I could imagine. This is so heartbreaking to see what is happening there today! My heart goes out to you folk's on the Island! 🕊❤⛰🏝🦋🌊🐋🐬🐠🐡🦈🙏🏻

Heartbreaking

Prayers going out for the people of Maui! Especially for the families of those who perished and those who were injured! Many here on the West Coast can empathize with what you're going through! Never, ever, did I think you would experience this! I'm so sorry you're going through this!
