I decided to make the most of a mild December and have a bushcraft breakfast at the camp. The shelters are still going well. I made a fire from birch bark and dead bracken. As well as a general bushcraft video this is also an update on the camp that I have been building. I decided to make another fire reflector next to the A-frame shelter as the strong wind was making my fire burn too quickly. Didn't quite finish the wall but you will see how far I got, it should look good when it's done! Thanks for watching guys, hope you enjoy the video! - Mike

  • My father used Dubin on his football boots in the 50's, brought a smile to my face when you said that :-)
  • Just to let you know they do make hard plastic egg carton cases for carrying your eggs while hiking and camping. You can also find mini-seasoning camping containers to carry in your pack for your cooking otherwise you could always purchase a cupcake sprinkle container empty it out and refill it with a variety of different seasonings of your choice!
  • Coming back to the beginning to watch the whole series. I enjoyed your most recent updates, and since I just joined a month or so ago, its high time I watched, and learned right along with you.

Not sure if you're aware but one of the purposes of a fire reflector is to direct the smoke. When you are at a fire the smoke seems to follow you, this is because the heat reflects off you causing s draft which draws the smoke your way. The fire reflector does the same thing. Yes it directs heat back at you but it also forces some of the heat to rise causing a draft. The smoke follows that draft (if the reflector is close enough to the fire anyway). Lonnie at Far North Bushcraft and Survival does a great job of explaining this in one of his videos. A reflector behind you would be more useful in a survival situation since it warms your cold side with reflected heat. Of course, a good shelter does the same thing. =)
  • That's a really cool camp you built over the last while' all you need now is a drying rack of some kind maybe.
  • @davidharvey5672
wow, you have access to some superb places for this and of course fishing. Looks great.
  • @sumosprojects
G’day mate, you’re lucky as there are no snakes lol
  • @TheMrJoeMac
Nice day in the woods. Enjoyed the video Mate. the root shelter is very cool.
  • Word of advise. There is a setting you can create a playlist that plays from oldest to newest. makes watching a series easier to watch. Please do this!
