We have a restored movie palace in town that does a showing of this every year with live music from the wulitzer organ. It's amazing. LOVE this movie.

Of all the film adaptations done, this original 1925 version is considered the most faithful to the book, despite a few changes

One of motion picture history's greatest horror movies from the silent movie era. Lon Chaney's portrayal and classic makeup job of Erik, The Phantom Of The Opera is one of THE most memorable creations he ever did. Chaney was a very talented character actor and makeup artist. Wow!! I enjoyed that more than most of the horror films they have out today with sound! That was really engrossing and had me on the edge of my seat!! In the silent film era they had to really put the facial and body movements into it that really made great movies! Perfect start to Halloween!👍🏼🎃🍁🍂

i would love to go back in time and see this when it first came out, i bet people freakd out when they first saw it. i read that some people fainted and ran out of the theater they were so scared.
