I love when she sings, “Ja, ja, Herr Jesu komm!”

Of all the cantatas I know, this tiny funeral cantata is my absolute favorite. The most sublime moment is during the alto chorale at the words "As God has promised me, death has become my sleep." It's not sad, it's transcendent.

The opening Sonatina was played at the Memorial Concert for Albert Einstein at Princeton in 1955. A fine violinist himself, Einstein particularly revered Bach. He knew that this music came from beyond space and time. - Dan B.

In each cantata there are always the same comments: "this is absolutely the best cantata Bach has ever composed". The true is that JSBach has composed exclusively masterpieces, and each of them is able to reach the most intimate site of our mind. He is the genius of the human kind. Here we have talented and exeptional musicians! You are great.

I have loved this piece for nearly 50 years now. One of the best renditions.

Mr. Daniels's performance of the "Ach, Herr" arioso is probably the best reading of that piece that I've ever heard. Marvelous.

I have possibly just heard the saddest music ever written, yet i am happy. Such is the dramatic genius of Bach.

One of the most profound Pieces of music ever. Bach was 22 years old the time he composed this. And the performance is as perfect as always. Such a delight to watch a band of devoted musicians performing a masterpiece of music in perfection, Thanks!

Que ce soi dans les suites pour violoncelle solo ou dans ce type de Cantate, Bach nous rappelle que nous venons tous de la terre, que notre existence est minime mais fait partie d'un grand cheminement qui nous dépasse largement. Merci de nous fournir des enregistrement de cette qualité sonore, accompagnés de prise de vues toutes plus exquises les une que les autres.
