Hey y'all, I decided to document a day in my life while in Paris. Recently, I've been feeling a little stressed. It's been difficult figuring out my production workflow in my day-to-day life, but I've also been having bigger thoughts on what I want to do with regard to the business, where I want to live, and what I want my content to look like. Documenting this day was actually pretty helpful in making me reflect on these things. I realize it's not my typical content, but hopefully, you can find some enjoyment in watching and if not, no worries, we'll be back to regular food/cooking content in the next video!

We watch for cooking and food sure, but it's you and your personality that keeps us coming back! Love you Ethan and keep up the fantastic work
  • @draskuul
Ethan, I do give you HUGE props for how your recipes are posted. They are well-written RECIPES. They don't have 5000 words of copy about how your cousin's sister's college roommate's half-brother once tried a margarita in Mexico, so here's a recipe for a jackfruit curry....

Love this video dude! I think you have a super loyal fanbase that would watch you do anything. The analytics are a total brainmelt for sure. The Hedonic treadmill is fun huh?lol. I think you're having great success venturing out with your new style of content, excited to keep watching more Paris Vlogs!
  • @jazzy_taste
It's so relaxing to sit in the armchair by the window while it's raining outside and watch your video from romantic Paris. Keep experimenting and uploading videos! I find it extremely interesting!

I was actually just thinking of this the other day because I have been undergoing some big time changes in my life: give yourself grace, Ethan. You may need to hear that now. You made to hear that later, maybe next week or next month. Doing difficult, challenging things brings stress, and it's good to pause and appreciate that you're doing it. It's not always easy or fun, but it's rewarding. You already know all of that. We just need to be reminded. Give yourself grace. And keep on doing what you're doing. We're all fans for a reason.

Hey Ethan, A tip for finding chicken thighs and fresh "exotic" produce like ginger for cheap is go to K-Mart Paris. It is a Korean/Japanese market that sells everything for those cuisines. So, they have a fresh produce section with usually hard to find vegetables and herbs that normal french supermarkets won't for even sometimes cheaper, and then they have a butcher section where they sell Asian style cuts of meat such as thinly sliced pork and beef. In that section, they sell both skin-on and skinless chicken thighs(Both boneless). Took me forever to find many ingredients in Paris (black beans are probably the hardest but they are there sometimes), but it just takes some digging. Good luck!
  • Hey Ethan, I lived in Paris for 3 years and it's totally okay to be stressed/overwhelmed by Paris! In fact, I moved out because it was too much for me. Just take your time to discover each district one by one, there are definitely some hidden gems and nice places to see. Also, you can find fresh ginger in most asian grocery stores of the 13th district (and maybe visit it, although a bit unusual for tourists). Great video, it brings back some memory :) thanks!
  • @MaxiCocina
I love the part were you talk about analytics, if you focus too much on the numbers you end up loosing the happines of making the videos, sharing recipes, etc.. thats kinda whats happening to me, right now, trying to feel proud on my content! Love your videos Ethan!

I just want to add a comment saying I super, super appreciate your content. You're a great cook. Your recipes are affordable. Your ingredients are accessible. Your techniques are simple. You come up with original concepts for videos. You are a humble and likable dude. You're essentially the opposite of Joshua Weissman.
  • @bentpaddle
I only recently found your videos and subsequently watched just about every video you have because I enjoyed them so much. I always find it refreshing when content creators have very candid videos like this where they talk about the difficulties and the stressors they're dealing with. It reminds me that the people I admire are fallible and human and that it's okay to be fallible and human myself.
  • @SumCanadianDude
Hey Ethan, I started watching you when I searched "how to cut onions", many months ago. I introduced the wife to your channel and we have used a bunch of your cooking in our daily lives. Thank you for all the amazing content and keep it up, you're doing great!
  • @markd1328
You're living the dream fam, welcome to Europe. Remember, the point was to chill. Make sure you take a breather and relax for a few days, your content's always prime. Take a few days for yourself.
  • Love hearing you voice your creative obstacles that I sometimes find hard to put into words. Like everyone else has said, we're here for YOU at the end of the day. Glad to see you're loving Paris and feeling as inspired there as I get. Bon chance, mon ami!
  • All of us who wanted to ditch everything and move to Paris are living vicariously through you. Thank you for keeping it realā¤ļø

Thanks for uploading this. Consistently impressed by your candidness and honesty, and the creativity and simplicity of your videos. It's really compelling, and makes it feel like we are going on a journey alongside you, rather than just being educated or entertained. Hope the trip goes well.
  • @jcervelli
dude, this is great content...you simply talking through your process, is great stuff. i have so much respect for what you do. creating this content is clearly a TON of WORK! thanks for all of it!
  • I have to say I really really like the editing dialogue and the words at the bottom! Such a great insight into your inner monologue and itā€™s so relatable and fun ā™„ļø
  • @floralag1655
Hey, thanks a lot for posting this video. It's great to get your insights on everything you go through : your process, the business aspect of things, how you manage being this creative... And no, it's absolutely not ranty ! It's relieving for the bunch of us who encounter the same constant inner dialogue - which, really, isn't at all negative, but can feel a bit hard to tame at times... Keep it up, Ethan ! And Paris is good for creativity apparently !
