Scott CR1 resurrection - Carbon frame repair, repaint and refurbish!

Published 2024-06-22
A frame I was given, broken on the top tube, perhaps cracked on the seat tube, otherwise meant for trash - I buy some epoxy and carbon and repair it.

Full story:
I was given the frame by a guy I knew from a forum - he had a crash and the bike was replaced fully. The frame and fork were badly damaged - I speculated I could repair the frame, the fork not so much - as the steerer tube was broken and I'm not fixing that.
I bought epoxy 2-component resin, some carbon fiber fabric and heat shrink wrap.
The whole work took less than 2 weeks (epoxy and paint curing are just taking time and a lot of waiting).

All this was actually done in year 2015 - these are all old picture. The bicycle was used as a daily commuter this whole time and works perfectly fine!
The time has come however, to do another refurbishing, so this is why I'm uploading this video. The next video (will be linked later) is the next episode for this lovely commuter bike that I used for the last 9 years.

Stay tuned.
