UPDATE
This is a re-upload of this video after I found something in the first upload that was completely inappropriate. I do apologize if I accidentally offended anyone as that was my mistake for not looking at the whole video, beforehand. Anyway, enjoy this proper version of the Retrospective!

There is a world map. Press B and select together. The brooms in Matoya's cave tell you, sort of. They say it backwards.

This whole series is one of the best of its kind in all of youtube. I'll be playing this in the background.

Came across this gem review by accident, good job, very good retrospective, very good editing, keep up the good work :)
  • As I remember, the warriors didnt returned home, they stayed trapped in the past, thus becoming the same four warriors of the legend

I love that you took the time to talk about the fantastic OST! Great work :)
  • This video is so well scripted and perfectly executed, it really shows why FF is the greatest jrpg franchise of all time ~ you deserve more subs ♥️

Since SquareSoft and Enix merged together in the 2000's I have always wanted a Final Fantasy spinoff with Toriyama as head character designer just to see how he would interpret Nomura's design sensibilities and vice versa with Nomura doing a Dragon Quest spinoff.

The first of many. Keep it up, bro! Can't wait to see more! :D

Sora, Link, Yuna, Vivi, Ryu, and Jack. Sora is the Warrior Link is the Thief Yuna is the White Mage Vivi is the Black Mage Ryu is the Monk Jack is the Red Mage.  Get it?  Because he's the Jack of all Trades?

This was a most excellent review! I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the series now! I think I preferred the GBA version of FF1 the best, although I have yet to play the PSP version. The Android port was okay. The NES version is only for the truest of fans :) Thanks for sharing!

My first final fantasy game, then was 7, then was my endless playthroughs of the Japanese roms on emulators for 2 through 6 (some with attempted bad translations). The early days of square and final fantasy are some of my fondest memories in gaming. When Origins was released I couldnt contain my excitement. Now the ff7 remake? I'm going to die happy lol.
  • 16:30 FF1 came with an accompanying item/weapon/magic sheet, monster sheet, and a series of maps, both world and major dungeons to help direct you where to go next. The player manual also had a general guide for major objectives and the order these are best tackled. The only thing left out was the specifics on the final sequence and boss, and some of the lesser dungeons. These came in the OG box. No separate walkthrough required. I find all these retro reviews completely miss these facts. The game wasn't nearly as confusing to those of us playing it back then as it is without those tools today.

Today is the 30th anniversary of Final Fantasy. Here's to hopefully 30 more. I need to make sure to rewatch this so yeah, rock on dood.

This is one of only two Final Fantasy games I have ever finished. The other being Final Fantasy VII. I have played every game in the series apart from the MMO games being Final Fantasy XI & Final Fantasy XIV. I have wanted to do a Final Fantasy marathon for some time now but there are a few in the series that I really didn't like which is stopping me from doing them. Although I may just bite the bullet and give the ones I don't like another chance. Great video and brilliant work on it. I found this series by accident and I'm glad I did as Final Fantasy is one of my all time favourite series of video games ever created.
  • The pixel remaster, especially on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo switch among also being on the Apple store, and so forth is the best port of the game

9 out of 10 people chose to add the fighter in their first ever party -> the question is who didn't? (I chose 2, Jinn and Zack)
