When I first saw this scene is a kid, I said “That’s not true.” Now I’m 39 years old. I see this scene… Now I say “This is very true.” There comes a moment that you see the world, and say “I’m not ready to be an adult. I’m not ready to live in this world. To live like this.” I don’t have a social life. I just work. My days off, I go to the supermarket, clean house, do the laundry, nothing more. I don’t have a life. I’m halfway of being a machine.

Ally Sheedy made this movie. I mean, everyone was awesome, but this scene was so genuine. Everyone was amazing and I’ve been watching this movie since I saw it as a kid when it came out. Never gets old. Timeless.

Allison's words break my heart so much I see how true it is I'm not even a minor yet but I feel my heart is already dead
  • Alright.... that's enough spirit-crushing sadness for the moment especially from a scene in a movie that was made over 30+ years ago. I think we could all agree that time will always be stacked against us. Aging just fucking sucks. Period.

It's true, I grew up and my heart died. I wonder in 50 years when I'm gone, you'll read my message.... Don't grow up..

I used to get so much feelings even from smells but now it’s just a day to day cycle of emptiness
  • That's my shit, that's my shit, that's my shit, that's my shit

Heart dies because as children we are made to conform to the world. Where there is judgement and no one lives authentically. This is why Jesus says come as children. Because children have their hearts open. Luckily God promised to Give you a new heart. Ask him for it. When your compassion for others like the poor and mentally ill come back, you live life more authentically. Your heart has its own brain. We stifle our hearts so we don't have to bear others pain along with our own, but that is no way to live. You lose your heart all together when you harden it.
